  1. There was a reveiw of this a while back on u tube and it didn't do very well , basically an ares tavor with even worse build quality and materials used ! The ares can be sorted , but at a price , trigger bar , hop , tappet plate , bearings , wiring , trigger contacts etc and even then the gearbox is still prone to cracking unless you sorbothane it which buys it a bit more time . Also the fact it is an absolute pig to work on Dosnt help !!
  2. Electric speed loader ??? Lol ! Don't use an 11.1 or you might destroy its internals ..... Lmao Can't wait to see a skirmish reveiw on the marui speed loader with deans and hop upgrade . !!
  3. Ares make their internals out of bird pooh and cheese , the gearbox casing is a weak design , the micro switch triggers are poor quality the trigger bar on the tavor is a joke ( actually bends in use ) the hop unit leaks air like a dog that's eaten vindaloo curry , the motors burn out frequently , the mars sight is a joke and Dosnt work . Etc and the whole gun has to come apart to work on it . How bad can it get before you say it's a bad gun ???? And then to top it all s&t made a rebranded version with brittle plastic externals and a plastic gearbox with the metal box as a chargeable optio
  4. It's not filing down as such . The mag well has a screw behind the feed nozzle that protrudes and hits the top of the mid cap . Not a problem for high caps as that is were the fill up door is So get a mid with an indentation/ recess there and it's not a problem , apparently real sword mags have this or use a Lonex which is better anyway as no tedious winding required
  5. Talk to a decent Airsoft techie and all will tell you the same thing AVOID this gun like the plague !!!! It is in the top ten of the worst / most unreliable Airsoft guns ever made Unless you wish to spend lots of money on v hard to find upgrades and change 90 % of the internals it will never work for any usable amount of time An absolute lemon of a gun !!
  6. I own a g36c umarex/ ares version and can honestly say that it has been the most unreliable / temperamental and stress inducing gun I have ever owned . It now sits on a wall and Dosnt get used as I know as soon as I pull the trigger and fire it something else will fail/ break or jam Fom day one this gun this gun was awesome but little did I know what was to come 3 motors failed . Under warranty 2 trigger switches Hop unit . Cracked And then the icing on the cake , major fps drop Found to be a shim imbedded in the piston that had scoured the bore . Blowback unit failure Stripp
  7. If Carlesberg did Airsoft retailers they would be the result . And you can shoot , test all your purchases in store
  8. I have played at their new Oxfordshire site twice now and have been massively impressed by everything at this site The site is owned and run by tony an amazing guy who has an infectious enthusiasm for everything to do with Airsoft having been a long time player before deciding to open his own sites This is a family run affair with his wife hazel and daughters participating in the running of it and also a friendly bunch of regulars The marshalling is exceptionally good as are the briefings and safety aspects The owner and marshals also make it v v clear that non hit taking and courtesy
  9. Mod for the type 97 and 97 b Cut out the small tab of plastic inside the handgrip at the top and you can then easily fit a 7.4 1300 lipo or 11.1 1100 lipo in the handgrip
  10. If any one has parts availability issues with any g&g bit pro Airsoft supplies carry all the spares for the g&g guns as they are the main factory recognised dealer for the uk . As stated on g&g website . They also work in conjunction with the brand to solve any issues that may occur Hence the new improved l85 and mp5 11.1 handgrip model revisions . Talk to Chewie !!
  11. The magazine price is very high on these ! Nearly gas mag prices 40 pounds ish for a high cap 500 rounds and 25/ 30 pounds for mids 100 rounds Maybe it will get cheaper when the cloners get busy copying them !!
  12. Have just played with my friends modded up 97 and what a revelation ! He has basically nicked the gearset and motor from a 97 b and plonked it into the 97 The difference in rate of fire is astounding on an 11.1 lipo as is the improvement in trigger response and it is still hitting 328 fps with roughly 22 / 25 bbs rate of fire . The accuracy has improved on auto and it hasn't adversely affected single shot either . Definitely gonna go down this route with my own 97 but am going to change out the 97 motor for something a bit more aggressive than than the 97 b one

  14. Just get the picatiny/ ris rail for it and mount your own metal sights or optics on it . When I am not using red dot or scope on mine I mount g36 sights on the rail .
  15. I also own a type 97 and have found it to be highly reliable in use. With a minor mod ( removal of the small plastic tab in the hand guard the gun will happily take a 1300 7.4 lipo or an 1100 11.1 lipo with no problems. Have also seen modded 11.1 battery's with extended wiring fitted into the foregrip and pistol grip as a nun chuck type fitment Lack of a front ris is something I am going to solve as my main gripe with the gun The standard barrel is a 605 and is the first thing I changed on mine as the range and groupings were not as good as I liked and also fitted a guarder clear hop rubb
