  1. That grip is awesome...so much that it made me chuckle while imagining myself holding it.

It has that sort of, "I'm going to hit you with this," look to it...

Hard to put into words...but yes, excellent work. (If you ever sell it, PM me.)

  2. Wes gots us some high rolla's in this thread! (Not that that's unusual in any way. ;))

About my M4. There's a battery bag on the SOCOM stock.

And man, it is tempting...really want to hit my gun with Krylon...

The temptations. Why must they tempt me!

    Yesssss.

  3. Thanks guys. Yes, it is indeed a Shrike...well, an attempt at the Shrike. Didn't want to spend $800 on a Shrike kit, so I bought NewbKiller's custom, did some of my own work, and I'm left with that. Looks like I'll actually need to dump another $300, not $200, on it, though...but it'll wind up with a tacticool bipod and everything once it's done...

The UTG bipod just doesn't cut it, lol.

P.S. So...Viper = Connery? Didn't know you changed your bloody name!

Edit: Here's a wonky Ghost Recon style rendering of the Shrike I'm trying to create.

The 'production' model has a rounded handguard, as ARES ditched the M249 style. So my custom replica is closer to that of the prototype model.

Edit 2: Another picture...for good measure. Still need to break out the spray paint...

  4. Constructive critisism *cough* you know who you are *cough* would be a better way of going about this...

Your gun's main "problem" (Notice the quotation marks? Your gun's problem is all on a personal point of view...we're talking opinions...three might spot a "problem" while three others find it quite nice.) is that it has a LOT of wear in a few places...if your gun is going to go through hell and back, the whole thing will, not little blotches of it.

If I were you, I'd go check out the Worn Weapon Picture Thread...that'll give you a good idea as to where there should/could be wear, and where there normally isn't.

  5. The intent of a person is what means the most. "Intent" being the key word, here.

Edit: Justin, I agree...kinda' hard not to, but I guess the rank is a personal opinion. Listening to the 101st episode of OPSEC Airsoft Radio, they were speaking on the subject. The conclusion concerning rank, and a U.S. Military personel agreed with this (bringing to a point that it's individual), was that if you're running an operation, and the leader of one force is a, for example, "Colonel", that person should wear a rank insignia only as a purpose of identification...so that it's easier to ID prime targets...as in who the sniper should aim for.
