  1. I didn't! I went the easy option and modified the battery. I got a 9.6v mini pack Broke off the bottom 2 cells. folded them over and epxoyed them to the bottom of the main pack (broken connections facing downwards) soldered connecting wires between the main pack and the 2 cells i folded over. covered in some heat-shrink. job done! Fits nicely and gives me that "little bit extra" while allowing the gun to remain unmolested. (i wonder if i've got a pic anywhere?) In the spirit of the thread, I'll try and get one tonight!
  2. Are they? i use BE, JG and TM hi-caps and have never had issues with any of them? (famous last words i bet!) MP7 hi-caps on the other hand were a nightmare!
  3. I was using the first version of the Rail adapter i made and wrote about here: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...howtopic=138929 Since i posted that topic i added a front post to to the 203 to reduce front end wobble and also as a result of the day skirmishing with it i'm going to put a small strap from that post over the barrel to further stabilise it. The adapter bracket itself worked a treat and held up to everything i threw at it! Also when i got tired and replaced the M203 with a RIS foregrip it still worked well and kept it's ergonomics. All in all, it w
  4. I FINALLY got a day pass to try out the Aug+M203 @ The Rock last month and while it works like a dream can i now say, DAMN it gets heavy as the day wears on! Also, while i like it in Black, i may have to spray my backup BE Aug as they don't arf stand out in that Quarry! Face blanked in order not to scare small children and YES i wear Multicamp, it's a "team thing"
  5. <max volume>SIR, YES SIR!</max volume>
  6. Cheers, I made it. Have a noesy at this link for some more info: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...howtopic=138929
  7. So it's not just airsofters who get a bit obsessed with adding rails!
  8. The first thing i bought after fitting the rail to the front of mine was a RIS foregrip as the AUG just feel so right with one!
  9. I do like that carbine look! My BE "backup" Aug is a carbine and nearly every time I’ve taken it skirmishing I’ve ended up using it at one time or another as it feels just so nice to manouver with OH! fluorescent animals! That brings back memories! When my mates and I first started skirmishing (about 15 years ago! - gawd I’m getting old) one of the guys used a springer M16 as a sniper rifle and had a fluorescent duck on one side of his stock and a fluorescent chick on the other. It was silly, but damn good fun as those who didn't know him spent too much time trying to figure out wh
  10. Being more of a practical skirmisher i tend to go for functionality over form. Then i got an AUG and got the best of both worlds! But, after a session at Spectre Urban a few months ago i realised that i desperately needed a torch adding and also saw how useful an M203 could be, so i acquired some rails and set about me poor beasty. The results are below and are probably not to everyones tastes, but it ain't arf useful! Note: I've sprayed the retaining bolt black now and I am going to get a foldable RIS attachable foregrip for when the 203 gets a bit too heav
  11. JG Aug pics with the BE carbine barrel. Notice the white "chunk" of plastic on the BE where an adjustable hop "should" be. It's basically a feed tube but there is a hop, it's just fixed, but quite accurate with 0.20s which is nice. Original Barrel fitted with BE barrel for comparison Then with BE barrel fitted, it looks the part and performs without missing a bb! That said i know some would DETEST the plastic flash hider and i did modify the BE front handle with epoxy and dyna-mat to make it more sturdy, but each to their own.
  12. Also FYI the Both Elephant (Metal Gearbox version) carbine barrel is interchangeable with JG / TM / CA receivers! The BE receivers aren't worth messing about with but the barrels are if you're on a budget Although the BE carbine outer barrel is plastic and it has a fixed hop, for CQB using .20bb the hop and inner barrel are actually surprisingly good and unless you're a complete airsoft snob it's a REALLY cheap way to get a carbine front end and a backup / spare V3 gearbox in the process. Also in an emergency if your "best" Aug fails, you can swap the long barrel onto the BE receiver
  13. Is that a "real" carbon fibre stock or is it the stick on carbon fibre patterned plastic that you get for cars?
  14. I'm STILL not getting any e-mail notifications to my hotmail. I've checked all the settings etc.. any ideas or suggestions on what to alter would be appreciated, or anyone else is using hotmail and having these problems, let me know. Otherwise if somebody of importance is reading this can they have a noesy to make sure it's nothing server related. ta.
  15. i didn't even get notification of the replies to this thread i had to check! hummmm.. curioser and curioser
  16. i've been having the same problem. i.e. no notifications. i've just checked my hotmail junk filters after reading the 1st post and i still don't have any e-mail notifications
  17. ahhh, it's good to know that it' not just me who does that in an empty car park covered with fresh snow!
  18. Really!! (i wish i could do better sarcasm via msg!) Actually! If i remember right, A member of 5-Star back in the 80's bought herself a brand new Countach the day she passed her driving test! the insurance was something like £10,000 a year!! in the 80s! Edit: opps sorry for dragging this off topic and lack of pic posts
  19. WOW impressive! But seeing as ur profile says ur 17 , how much does ur insurance set u back on that!
  20. Not being one to follow the crowd, bring on the latest mod - the furry "flocked" SEAT! IN truth, WARNING: you may want to stop reading now if ur squeamish! I hit a dear on the way to work and when i pulled over i realised that what remained of it, as i'm sure that Dears are meant to have more legs than this one did, had got trapped under my car. So, for the few hundred yards that i drove until i could pull over i was basically sanding all of the fur off of the part of it that was stuck to the underneath of the car and all the furr was flying out and getting stuck to t
  21. oh dear! Now i've GOT to have a camo Aug! At least i know what i'll be doing with the BE Aug body now when the JG one turns up! I'll have to remember to stick a pick up if/when it's done.
  22. I haven't seen inside the Plastic gearbox version, but after reading around i'm 99% sure that it's identical internally to mine. So as long as your V3 gearbox is in Aug configuration then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. (famous last words!)
  23. Post Skirmish Update! Well, the M249 let me down again! (It was 2nd hand and i think it's had a hard life before i got it, so now it's time for a complete overhaul!) But this meant that at Combat South Woodland on the 26th i got to skirmish with the BE Aug all day. HOW nervous was i at first!!! BUT. After a day of skirmishing with the little beasty, can i say WOW!!! So a post match report. Well the first thing i found is that that the original battery you get with it doesn't seem to hold a charge overnight! (mildly annoying) so it's lucky that i'd bought a spare 9.6v
  24. Yup, the cannon is a TOP one and a very nice, yet chuffing heavy, beastie it is! And as someone pointed out that is a bit of a catalogue pose! humm, there's a whole new picture thread! hahahahaha
  25. Do i detect a hint of sarcasm there? And YES, it's not the most manly pose, but i was knackered after lumping that chuffing great cannon around for most of the day! <that's my story and i'm sticking to it>
