Carbon steel hand forged differently tempered with a true temperline, wooden scabbard, real rayskin and finest japanese cotton wrap. The guard depics a mantis stalking a cricket unaware that its being stalked by the Golden Oriole. The same motif is also carried on through the pommel cap and handle collar. Beautiful sword. Cost me about the same price as a LR300.

Seppuku involves taking ones life as a way of gaining honour in this world and in the next, if you ever get a chance read James Clavell's Shogun. Wonderful book. Should explain a few things. Basically it was done by making usually one, the brave did two, cuts both across, and then up, with the Shoto, or short sword, thus disemboweling themselves and dying. After they made the cuts, a "second" would remove their head, clean it and show it to their master. Say that I had failed you, very badly. I would be compelled to commit seppuku in order to regain my honour.

Also best get a CA SG1 stock, as the metal end peice is a lot more in sync with the overall colour, or wait it out, CA has one in the works and if its as good as their CA33E it should be good.
