  1. Some pics of the custom made SMLE I and scaleyback made from a VSR-10 and loads of real parts. Before and after it was treated with wood stain.
  2. Where did you see a MkV? I'd be interested to see how it's done as the grip goes where the trigger is on the mkii.
  3. Nice review. I have one question that perhaps you can answer though. The TM gun has a major weakness around where the barrel screws on to the receiver. There is a bar that the foregrip attaches to and then this continues ans screws onto a plate on the underside of the receiver just in front of the mag well. I see that this is all the same as the TM version. On the TM version this bar is prone to breaking in half when a sling is used with the gun. This is because of an angled change in the bar which acts as a stress point. As a result the barrel then comes off as its only attached by
  4. Had some fun with my para at the weekend. #1 I had decided to do the upgrade of adding the systema area 51 ported piston head to the gun a few weeks previously... anyway... this weekend the piston head fell off the piston... this resulted in the bbs basically falling out of the end of the barrel as the cylinder/piston generated zero air flow. Looking at the piston head its clear to see that the thread where it attaches had sheared completely away... not too surprising as its a metal screw into a plastic piston head. I luckily had the original star piston head with me and
  5. Well I love mine! The general impression I get from other owners I know who have them is that they love theirs too. I know just one guy who's been plagued with problems... Only you can really decide.
  6. Well I took my para out for the longest game its played yet... Cold weather (luckily not wet) and 25 hours of play. I got through loads and loads of bbs. Probably 10,000 in this single game. In the last minutes of the game the box mag stopped feeding. I had a quick look and found that the wiring in the box mag had come unsoldered. Taking it home I had a proper look. What had happened was something had got inside the mag amongst the bbs and caused the mechanism to jam. This had in turn caused the motor to start to overheat. The wiring gave up first. I took the mag
  7. I'm considering replacing the piston head with a ported one as suggested earlier in the thread. If I read correctly then staticzero used a "Area1000 ported polycarbonate" piston head. I have a few questions. 1) Does this fit directly onto the existing star piston or will I need to buy a new piston. 2) I can't seem to find a supplier of Area1000 stuff. (Ah I've found one at pecision airsoft... but I'm in the UK so, thats not ideal) Are there any other piston heads that are recommended? eg. Systema? 3) Do the piston heads usually come with the o-rings that are needed? If
  8. Had my para out today for the first time and it fired great. Just one small problem with the mag wind switch being sticky, but between games I took the gearbox and trigger circuitry out and just parted the contacts slightly. It then proceeded to work just lovely.
  9. not yet... but star have something planned.
  10. What exactly do you mean by "hold down the guns trigger". Do you mean squeeze it? With or without the safety on? (It does move a bit even with it on). Cheers... If I have to take my gearbox out at some point I don't want to break my gun!
  11. Thanks for that, its now sorted. I didn't want to force it! Much better.
  12. Well I got my para today... very happy with it. It was a 2nd hand purchase so even happier to get the extra money off it. Just one problem. It seems that whoever put it together in the shop put the stock on upside down. This shows itself in that the shoulder rest actually folds down as if to go in your arm pit rather than on your shoulder. Anyone got any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
  13. The M4 is designed to look like one from stargate. However I've had to add the surefire because of the sheer amount of urban I'm playing at the moment at Lightfighter. Its all very dark. To finish the SG look I just need the elcan scope. The AK has king arms wood kit. Its got a lovely lustre to it. The duals are KSC/KWA with Hogue grips.
  14. No... just a King Arms wood kit.
