  9. looks like a half arsed version of the old Niemoller rigs SADF used for a very short period of time... not a fan of them myself....
  10. Oh I had a flask with some fun stuff on me, I was holding the bottle for the GI who snapped the photo. Thanks for the comments guys, I had been working on the kit for a while and had to throw everything together last minute when I found out I would be free for the game.
  11. surprisingly that was vermont. We had this 80 year old salty Marine who fought in VN, said he walked into the woods to take care of business and the hair stood up on the back of his neck "if it had been 10degrees hotter I would have sworn we were in Vietnam." He also talked a lot with us about tactics, techniques, what living in field is like, how to cover tracks, how to track ect ect. Was really interesting to get a first hand prospective. Was a good game but lacking numbers. Me and some buddies had to swap sides after dinner the second night and raided the US FOB from about moon set (220

  14. Damn google! That image pops up as Sierra Leone on google! Thanks for the correction.
  15. thats the highest res I can find, its an excerpt from a larger image of a group of Paras on patrol in Sierra Leone.
  16. Thanks Nick, I was basically doing a version of this Para's kit, but using the oldschool tropics that are pictured in a lot of the SL photos, it ended up looking much more like a EO kit than I thought it would. I started the day with my PKM as my Jimpy is still down, but I took on a command role and wanted the support weapon in the hands of a team mate who would use it, so I swapped to my LCT VAL that is not really accurate but as I just got it I wanted to use it, I would have gone to my Galil, or Mk1 Minimi but as you can see my team mates were already using them...
  17. Old school Arktis 1601 variant, I can't remember the model number exactly but its the same as the SBS guys were using in the Tora Bora photos. Its mine as he hasn't bought it from me yet.. I much prefer my 32Bn SAAV variant.
  18. and now to go back on topic..... My Guys (bottom picture) at Reclemation 3 in Richmond Va, we were BRF SAS. We were aiming for SAS from Sierra Leone, but two of us ended up with more of an EO kit. We hunted Bob "the Axe man" like the hunter killer team we were doing impressions of.
  19. nikona M81 was standard issue for USAF and USN longer than it was for US Army and USMC, it was the standard uniform for all US armed forces, no need to highlight just the Army and USMC
  20. M81 is more like a fifth or sixth generation variant of ERDL, its also in use by ANA and most SOCOM units wear it when doing joint ops. The US Navy and Air Force used it as well, and some SEALs are still issued it as a stateside uniform.
