  1. My bad, it was just something that I had read when people were looking for solutions for burnt out microswitches. Kinda good to know since that switch makes single shot use much more tactile and responsive to the user.
  2. Has this gun become a pain to find replacements for? I thought one of the biggest alures of TM guns was the plethora of replacement or upgrade parts.
  3. I"ve heard good things about that site. But don't really know anyone that has bought from them stateside. I know they're based in china but they carter to a much highly quality product than other ACM company's correct?
  4. Oh I know that it was for the older models. But even when they were being made by KSC with Steyr trades they were still a pain in the *albatross* to get in the states. I have only seen 1 ever. Every single other one is either a unmarked KSC, newer B&T marked KSC, or the KWA one. I just can't get behind the B&T markings as much because they really didn't do anything to the design to make it their own. Just kinda bought up something Steyr didn't want anymore and rebranded it.
  5. I guess because they know people will pick it up anyway and throw in aftermarket parts to get it where they want it. Same as the WE M14 (unless theyve gone through a major overhaul). The platform is alright but design flaws and choice of materials plague it. (that damn two piece trigger box). Like how you'd have to buy the RA=tech one piece pretty quick. Yet people still buy the WE. So I guess VFC decided if people were willing to shell out 2-300$ on a rifle they know will likely have a failure within the first year that they'd be more than willing to do the same with a better brand name like
  6. Well you could completely do away with the switch assembly with some form of mosfet. You'd lose that nice microswitch which is useful for this platform if your turning it into a SPR or DMR>
  7. Well different people bought different models. There was a big rush for the original B4A1s. Then later that year for the SOPMODs. With a few people picking up the shorty B4A1s. Don't think I know of anyone that bought one of the CQBRs and he's just now getting access to SR47s. Mine personally was a SOPMOD that I've been updating to Block II standards (DD RIS 2, Elcan Spectre DR replica, KAC front and rear sight, KAC forgrip, still working on PEQ15 and a M3x).
  8. Well your not completely limited in rail options. You could always run a CASV system and stor the batery in there.
  9. Hmm thats odd you were having such severe issues. Even though I don't run my bolt alot, one of only two US suppliers happened to be local and was able to get us great deals on them so alot of guys in our state bought them. I havn't heard of any of them having serious failures and most are over a year old now.
  10. I've been running this along with a RM4 with iron sights only due to fear of the recoil messing up some airsoft optics. Have you guys had any issues with the recoil messing with your optics? I know GBBR users get this alot and this is getting close to Gbb recoil.
  11. Now could it just be this division of VFC? Cause isn't Stark Arms just a subsidery of them and they have made what many tell ime is a amazing glock. Maybe they should start bringing those guys in if they aren't being affliated with these new GBB offerings.
  12. Are those still going to be under the PTS branding? I thought KWA was taking it more in house and selling them as a no name gun that is lacking all the magpul attachments but is wired to the rear instead of the front. Hey Phil. When you took yours apart did you notice if the upper receiver was different at all from a regular aegs? I want to eventually replace the regular upper with something nicer like a MUR one or something but I know that alot of these KWA rifles have finicky hopup chambers that make swapping uppers a hassle to get working consistently again.
  13. Alright so its merely a matter of appearence. And if I really need to I could just remove it completely. The bolts not my primary rifle so it doesn't get alot of abuse or use so i don't worry too much.
  14. Wish it was easy to get the older Steyr trademarked ones. So frustrating with americas trademark system and how stubborn our company's are in regards to licensing trademarks.
  15. What is up with VFCs having this cooldown issue? Wasn't this a problem that is still plaguing there UMP45 series? I love the look but up here in the mitten state we don't exactly have the warmest weather even in the summer so any Gbbs we use need to not have any cooldown issues.
  16. The stock I can understand the price but the handguard and barrel are stupid expensive. Over a hundred dollars for a barrel that isn't even a tightbore or have a good hopup?
  17. That faux bolt deforming. Has that had any impact on the preformance of the gun? Not problems with snagging or causing internal hiccups?
  18. You bastards with your completed Masada 18' SPRs. Getting harder and harder to get the parts at a decent price. The stock, barrel, and handgaurd alone are nearly as much as the gun is new.
  19. I do remenber reading somewhere that BOLT had some affiliation with a high end maker of AKs. I thought I had tracked it back to LCT but had never been able to confirm that. I ended up getting one of the first runs of the SOPMODs, haven't opened it up yet myself but from the review if I was happy with the preformance out of the box there doesn't look like there is alot of weak points in the part choices.
  20. I've read from multiple sources that the GBB kit just rips itself apart pretty quickly. And in ways that there are not replacment original or upgrade parts for unless you have access to your own machine shop. Damn I gotta hurry myself, I still have to pick up a 18'' barrel, PRS II stock, and a long handguard.
  21. Haven't fielded my own yet, so your saying that finish on the lower is just not gonna last at all? May get it duracoated than in the end if I know it's going to be a problem in the short term. I can comment that swapping the motor grips on these are kinda a pain in the *albatross*. I don't know if they used a locktight on them or something but I ended up stripping three screws trying to get it out in the process of replacing the furniture with all FDE parts. But have you guys experienced any problems with the dust cover getting stuck and not dropping after pulling the charging handle? May just
  22. Theres a another thread floating around here somewhere that had similiar comments to your experience with the brand. That outside of a few unique rail offerings and there pre painted parts that there nothing to write home about.
  23. Yea there was actually a thread on the KWA forums about that about the time that WE released theres. We did not get a difniitive answer from the company whether or not it was just pipe dream or if it may become a reality. While the KWA system isn't the best (pretty high up there but most of my gas friends tell me KJW is the way to go) I would likely sell my PTS Masada to pick up a good gas one. Trades or no trades as long as PTS parts could fit on it.
  24. Hey does anyone here who's been running the G5 have any impressions of the G5s carbine kit? The initial feel of the gun just didn't really do anything for me but I 'm curious if this kit is a decent addition that may lead me to picking one up or if its just kinda a mess trying to take a PDW style platform and extending it out to a carbine length.
  25. I wanted to run it as a GBB with a SPR setup (PRS2 stock, long handguard, 18'' barrel) till I learned it was going to be a insane headache getting another barrel system to work since Beta never released the longer barrels. That and every long term review of that system that I've read says it literally rips itself apart over the long term.
