Lookslikethe used the AG stock kit and fitted the magpul stock around that. The valve seen could just be another drilled /tapped hole on the end of the AG kit

Should have clarified my leak was the internal seal on the gun which guts gas supply after a trigger pull. Would pull the trigger then you you could hear/ see the gas venting through the treciever and out the barrels. As said I think a hot day and a heavy fill of gas seems to have been the cause as stopped after s hood few shots and rarely in Scotland do we get 18+ degrees

Had my firat experience of the leaking atbthe output valve today. Appears a good charge of ultra and beiling left in the incredivle scottish heat was enough so thta after each shot there would occaaionally be a leak. Few shells later it died off like as cooldown woulve helped reduce the preasure in the stock.

Indeed. Using the G&P I thingk would position you similar to using an AR platform where the lower sitting AG will be more like an AK / full stock position.

Personally I wouldnt have as I like the flush look of the AG but I would be a large sum of money allot of people would take the g&p without the stock / grip as it would be pretty similar in cost to the AG but arguably with the greater reputation / marketing of G&P

Not so much that mate as dont see why G&P didnt release similar to AG and force the costs down further.

I know what you mean. But if AG were wanting to go down a kit supply they could prob have got 3rd party stocks and grips for $50 or so. I just think G&P have went for the bolt and go crowd and AG have gone for the "we know half of you wont use what we supply anyway so why bother" route

Think G&P are aiming more at the people who will just buy the kit and only fit stuff that comes made for the 870. AG have produced something for people who allready have the grip/stock combos. I think if you bought a G&P kit and fitted it to a new 870 it works out less than buying an 870 then the AG adapter THEN a stock and GBB pistol grip.

Would assume they must know as they will have known about the AG kits longer than we have. Think its just G&P aiming for diff section of the market.

Dont get me wrong I can see why people prefer the g&p. I think they missed a trick in only selling it as a kit rather than a bare version as well at a lower cost.

True. Though I think g&p made a mistake in only selling there kit with a pistol grip and stock when most people will replace them anyway with what they want.
