  1. Here's a few real UK spec ACOG pics I took a while ago for reference.
  2. I got an A2 handle for my G&G L85A1 about 18 months ago. I ended up contacting G&G direct and it arrived within a couple of weeks or so. It wasn't any cheaper than buying from the UK but the folks at G&G responded pretty quickly.
  3. Neither! I was in the Royal Wessex Yeomanry (B Sqn, The Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry) from 1995 to 99 which is part of 43rd Wessex Brigade and these days I'm a member of the 4th Wilts Living History Group which portrays A Coy, 4th Bn. The Wiltshire Regiment in the 1944-45 period when it was 43rd (Wessex) Infantry Division.

  4. Shoot & Scoot M1 conversion with wooden stock, new HOP unit, tight barrel and semi auto only functioning.

    M1 Garand

NB: I have since sold my Marushin M1, it's a lovely collectors piece but not much cop as a practical skirmishing tool. My real and airsoft M1s. The first pictures feature my Marushin 8mm M1 Garand which while being a very nice piece of kit I found was not a practical skirmishing rifle. I now have an M14 conversion bought as a gift for me from Shoot & Scoot. I've carried out further work on it fitting a modified Pro Arms M14 wood stock, an Element HOP unit and a Vanaras 590mm long, 6.03mm inner barrel. The gearbox is all original parts cleaned and re-lubricated and as such the rifl
  6. It looks the dog's danglies, nice one. I won't ask how much it cost!
  7. From what I've have seen online of AZR's stuff I really wouldn't be tempted to part with money for any of it. It is a real shame that the manufacturers don't get all the details right for an M1928, but I guess at least it looks enough like one for most people, I'm just really fussy about stuff like. One with wartime horizontal foregrip and twenty round box mag would be ideal for that Commonwealth forces Italian campaign look or D-Day Commando impression.
  8. I'll go for the standard whinge of it having an incorrect M1A1 receiver (should have cocking handle on top, different style safety/fire selector levers and the magazine aperture is missing the profiles of the real M1928 that allowed it to accept a drum mag) and the buttstock is the M1A1 form. Nice that they did at least put an early style rear sight assembly on it I suppose. Oh and it's from Cybergun too.
  9. Take a look at the Repair and Mods Guide by Stealthbomber. It's originally for the G&G L85A1 but is equally applicable to the Army R85A1 with it being a clone of the G&G. I would also suggest carrying out the second piston tooth removal trick in addition to the mods listed in the guide.
  10. With that thought in mind I wonder what the chances are of any airsoft accessories manufacturer producing the railed fore end and also the SA80/LMG stepped rail to take the Light Weight day Sight (ACoG). Of course that will also cause a need for a version of the TA31 ACoG to be available with the correct format CQB sight fitted. The railed foregrip and LWS just don't look right to me on an L85 but that's progress for you!
  11. Now this is nothing special to look at but I thought I'd post up a few pictures of the modifications I've carried out to my G&G L85A1 to bring it up to A2 standard in appearance. Mods carried out: Overview 1) New G&G A2 style cocking handle and a real dust cover spring fitted. 2) Real magazine release catch guard fitted. 3) Real bolt release catch modified to fit. 4) Gas plug modified with metal filler to give it the single slot of an A2. 5) As a precaution I have made and fitted a 2mm thick polycarbonate disc in front of the forward

  14. The SUSAT had its first run out yesterday and I was pleasently surprised. As previously stated by others it is far from being a sight with high quality optics but it did the job it was bought for and in fact it had a positive effect in a number contacts throughout the day. Zeroing turned out to be no problem in my case, I was lucky and it needed no adjustment in azimuth so I was unable to check the range of move on the left/right adjusters. In elevation the sight was looking a good couple of metres or so high above the point of impact at 40 to 50 metres. That moved down to the correct position
  15. I bought myself a G&G SUSAT the other day after they reappeared at retailers, despite reservations after the observations of others I simply had to replace the iron sights when funds allowed. Having seen the upset Swat had with a BB strike on the front lense I've taken the precaution of buying some 2mm polycarbonate sheet from EBay and cutting a disc to fit in front of the forward lense. Additionally I found that a little adjustment back and forth until the right focused spot was found has improved the clarity of the image seen by a reasonable degree, not as good as my G&P ACoG but sti
  16. I'm hoping that's actually "washers and shims"!!
  17. Cheers Tom, It has come out quite well, it's got that battle worn look to it now. If the wood work had been a darker shade to start with I would have probably left it but it was really quite pale. The varnish that was on it was really good stuff and took a lot of rubbing down to gbet the the wood beneath. The other plus is it now smells of linseed oil too which for reasons unknown I really like.
  18. I've just carried ageing and weathering work on my TM M14 fitted with a ProArms wood stock. Although it looked good, it just looked too new and perfect for my taste so I carried out a little work somewhat in line with Guiness's weathering guide. Before After
  19. Western Arms M1911A1 SCW What more does one need than a .45 and an M3 trench knife?

  21. I have (or as pointed out more correctly I am owned by) three cats, soon to be five when my girlfriend moves in with her two. Oh my what fun that is going to be.
  22. I'd say don't believe him, there's been no mention prior to you asking the question of any metal box for the A&K. There's no way it would sell for the price is does if it came with a metal case, Evike must be adding that case themselves, the norm is the plain brown box.
