  1. Yeah, true that. We do have some nice desert/scrub but not on the coast - CapaciousZepher
  2. Nice. I need to steal that terrain and relocate it to Washington - CapaciousZepher
  3. Thanks Doc. Ketix, Sure. It's really pretty simple, which is the beauty of this kind of loadout. Top - Shemagh - Green neck wrap - Random tan collared shirt - Tan PACA - 4 mag velcro shingle - SKS type Chicom w/ fastex buckles - ICOM radio - Mechanix gloves - Gortex ballcap - ESS Profile NVG's Bottom - OD M65 pants with tan riggers belt - Belt kit with drop leg holster, pistol mag pouch, dump pouch, drop leg medical pouch. - Belleville gortex desert boots. Other - Tactical Tailor 3 day pack. Weapons - Colt M4A1 - Beretta M93R
  4. Yeah, I've had painted M4's as well, so I'm not painting this one. Just a personal decision. I may go to one mount for the light, we'll see. Regarding the Shemagh, it would be tied up more firmly in a skirmish situation for sure. For the pics I had it draped for the sitting down shots, and then just continued with it for the other shots. But yeah, I wouldn't skirmish with it like that, because yes, it would fall off. - CapaciousZepher
  5. Thanks for the kind words. The SKS Chicom is pretty ideal for holding M4/STANAG mags, although you can only fit one mag per pouch. The 3 middle pouches cover the mags pretty much entirely, as you can see, so magpuls of some variety help a lot. I've not got mags in the shorter side pouches, as I'm running a 4 mag velcro shingle affair under the chicom, but they also fit M4 mags nicely and don't come up as far so it's easier to grab mags. The only thing that I think a chicom really needs is some fastex buckles, so I added some to the shoulder straps and back strap. Mainly to make the rig
  6. Thanks man. Yeah I'm usually rocking the full beard, but not this time. I've actually got an ICOM in the chicom, it's just hard to see in the pics. I also haven't wired up my headset/PTT yet. Next time I post pics of this loadout I'll grab some sunglasses as well. Forgot to say, I'm sorting aiming for the early 2000's, as far as timeframe. - CapaciousZepher
  7. Inspired by US Sneaky Forces in Afghanistan. As can probably be seen, it's a fairly rough thing, not an exact impression. Any ideas how to bring it up a little in terms of authenticity? Belt will be replaced, probably with an Eagle duty belt with pad, as will the holster with a Safariland + M9. I'd also like to get a more authentic looking shemagh. - CapaciousZepher

  9. I feel a bit bad for the double post, but oh well. New pics with surefire light. This project is almost complete now. Just waiting on a kill-flash for the ACOG. - CapaciousZepher

  11. Yep it's real, but I got a good deal on it. There are actually a few on ebay for fairly decent prices. I got mine locally. And yeah I am aiming for A'stan SF loadout. - CapaciousZepher
  12. Not sure what the rate of fire is in quantifiable terms, but it's definitely pretty high. Recoil is nice and snappy too. Used it as a primary last woodland skirmish with a tri-shot M3 as a backup. Surprisingly it was actually pretty effective, and a load of fun. In my mind the M93R is a very well conceived weapon. It's small enough to be holster friendly, has three firing modes for versitility, vertical grip for stability and 42rd mags make it very skirmishable. I'm planning on dropping a metal slide and stronger recoil spring in mine eventually, which should make things all the more fu
  13. Agreed. Excellent paint job as well. - CapaciousZepher
  14. Mine is in much the same position, and it works fine. Doesn't get in the way at all. - CapaciousZepher
  15. Nice knife placement - CapaciousZepher
  16. The FB/smoke pouch is not for me, it's for friends/guys behind me in the stack. And the knife does not get in the way at all when it's on my chest, and I've got nothing else to go on my chest. So it will stay there. - CapaciousZepher
  17. It's simply a piece of 1" webbing, done in much the same way as paracord magpuls are. This involves taking off the magazine baseplate and then closing it over the webbing, as you can see, so the webbing is pinched and held fast by the baseplate. It works real well and I prefer the increased "grabbing area" of the 1" webbing as opposed to paracord. - CapaciousZepher
