Your secret question

Answer to your secret question

    Happiness Becomes You.

I'm just a bit miffed about something on the radio this morning; apparently the 24th of Janruay is widely believed to be the most depressing day of the year. To whoever thought of making that public: f**k off mate, you couldn't think of anything else to do that day? Most people won't feel any better tomorrow just because its not today, but they might well feel a bit worse now that you've told them they probably should. Asshat. So I say b*ll*cks to that, have a free smile on me and my wishes of happiness and wellbeing go out to you all Screw anyone who thinks its not a lovely day

    Techno-Balls.

***WARNING*** Contains sanitised swearwords It wont be as long as the last one, promise .... Anywho: I pay attention to the WebProNews e-mails I get (daily, so it seems) and I try to keep at least one partially-deaf ear to the ground on such tech-related and internet post-modernisms as these newsletters (usually w**king on about how much google rule and how everyone wants to be their b*tch ) yet I find myself at odds with one thing they keep mentioning. iPods, and more specifically - Podcasting Its almost as if one of their sponsors was Apple. Maybe it is. Oops!!!

    The Evil Hippy LP

Ah yes, my pet hate. Prepare for some bile I am purposefully not gonna get carried away actually, I'll try and remain objective - not actually gonna happen now, is it? Education, state education mostly, in this country (and I can't comment on any other country but I'm guessing its similar) is utterly terrible. Its over-managed, off-topic, over-sensitive and missing the point. Now, I don't know why this is so, because i have no real grasp of the political complexities relating to state education over the last 100 years - I have no clever theories or socio-economic data with wh

    Here's us! Woo!

A shameful excuse just to use the photo ability of the medium, now that I've bothered to cross-reference the doobries on Photobucket.com and found that the tags for images in the forums are the same as on here. I should have guessed, really. So here we have, firstly; my mate Jason, who gets more name-checks on here than I do, being a Combat Wombat and posing for the camera. Smart mother-*fruitcage*-er isn't he? The git And secondly; From left to right - Stuart; purveyor of cheap safety glasses, acquirer of many, many guns, and all-round nice bloke, Some Guy We Have Forgotten T
  5. It all caught up with me this week. I've been continuing Dutch habits and been hammered every night since I got back and, accordingly, haven't really done very much apart from eat, sleep and mong out, hence the lack of entries when I have so much to blab about So these crazy fireworks eh? Bloody hellfire. I had no idea they would be *quite* that loud. It was the only surprise Amsterdam held for me, and it was certainly a novelty, what with it actually affecting my hearing and everything. I kind of pride myself on having pretty hardcore hearing, I've spent too many nights dancing aw

    Amsterdam.

Okay, so I didn't go and buy the wood for making cabinets yet. But I did get back from Amsterdam on Sunday after celebrating new year there. I think that is a viable excuse, really. Ah yes, Amsterdam, `Citie of one Thousande Surprisses` as Terry Pratchett might like to think of it, but in truth there were no surprises at all, which....could have been better, which is a real shame because it would be so nice if I hadn't been so calculating about what I saw. What I heard could hardly be prepared for, however. It was a great little break (2 nights) and a merry, messy trip with so
  7. "..'t - is the season to be jo-lly, fa la la la l - ah, la lah lah l - ah" ..... oh sorry, didn't see you there: Merry Christmas!! (why aren't you cowering beneath a pile or presents and gaggle of relatives? Eh??) Or the other way round if your a mad scientist, I suppose. I would be doing the same thing but it's all a wee bit sombre this year of course, and due to our laziness and cold calculating nature we have, in total, received from the family & Jason (pretty much a member of Clan 'Hippy anyway), 2 presents between 5 of us: one present for each my Dad and I, nothing for my M
  8. There are some sick souls out there, and it may come as no surprise to you that many of them are working in marketing departments up and down the country, and all around the world. I sampled the foul fruit of their insidious labours not even half an hour ago.... What kind of sick son of a b*tch designs, manufactures and markets a rubber hairbrush? I mean c'mon, honestly - this f*cker is going down, come the finish; I mean, if Constantine isn't just being creatively paranoid, and the forces of Heaven and Hell really are gearing up for a scrap and a final judgement -`oh-all-shall-be-d
  9. Ever wondered what a Smart Car looks like if you plough it into a concrete wall at 70mph? Well Tiff Needell obviously did, and it looks a bit like this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6605730767077503480 Overall, I must say I am impressed; the little blighters can take a fair wallop!! Mostly because they weigh so little, I'm sure, but it's all good for the driver (although maybe they should have simulated the weight of a driver in with it...?) I can send no more of the ones I distributed to my mates today, they involve darker topics than I can knowingly discuss here!
  10. French Connection U.K. - ing computers, goddamn them and their spawn unto the 71st generation; sometimes it's almost, almost like I could forfeit all of their benefits for the lack of stress not ever using one entails. They wind me up that much. Of course, then I wouldn't be able to show off all my toys to you guys so I guess I'll have to battle through with it Also I must mention here; for the sake of not going off on yet another tangent and losing a good thread; that the titular band of this very entry is gonna get its own dedicated blogificationalisement soon.... but anyway -
  11. That's been my philosophy for years now, and is the reason I have a bit of a drink problem. Happily, though, this also continues into airsoft and is the reason for my quite sizeable collection. You gotta take the rough with the smooth, eh? It all started with the clubbing scene; got into that at the age of about quite-some-years-younger-than-I-should-have-been and ended up with a fondness for all kinds of things-that-I-shouldn't-have-been-allowed (although I am the first to admit it was entirely my responsibilty; this is just a good way of illustrating things) and after that I star
  12. A mention here for my father and all people like him: he was a devoted teacher for 37 years. Now, there is a widespread belief out there in the public domain that teachers are some alien breed of sadists or are simply inept, at best, purposefully and maliciously intent on disrupting people's youths, at worst. The sad fact is that, in my reasonable experience and knowledge, there is slight justification for even the most negative extremes, and a fair bit of evidence that seems to corroborate the mediocre and bland idea that teachers simply do not care about their pupils but are merely t
  13. On the plus side: I now have a Classic Army M249. Also on the plus side I got Dog Soldiers last night and watched that again, rather a good film and I always do like Sean Pertwee's sarcastic and amusingly vulgar roles. On the down side, I broke my 3-day abstainance from booze to celebrate the arrival of the Minimi, and ended up with a head full of swirly C2H6OH brain-stabbing vengeance upon waking this morning. Hangovers do not a happy worker bunny make; send in the poachers and take this poor bunny nooooww!! It'll all look better on the other side a of a glass of paracetamol
  14. Evening all... Okay, so instead of making bold statements about what this blog is meant to be and what I hope to acheive, I'll list the truth about what it'll end up becoming: A rant about my alcoholism Airsoft musings and thinkings, mostly me saying `I could do this`, and `I could do that`. A load of self-fluffing guff about recent skirmishes A load of grievances about recent skirmishes Hopefully, believe-it-or-not, detailed notes on airsoft-related carpentry... With a bit of luck; me saying `I did this!` and `I did that! And it rocks!!` occasionally. Associated mutterin
