Your secret question

  1. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

This photo shows the standard KJW spring at the bottom and a modified spring at the top.
  2. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A view of the trigger pin clip assembly. This assembly is held in place by a spring loaded clip. The spring is also the hammer spring. By removing the pin which retains the clip you can change the original spring for a lighter or heavier spring. Make sure you dont loose either the ball bearing at the bottom or the spring follower at the top of the spring assembly when you knock the retiaining pin out.
  3. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A close up of the G&G Tanaka M700 Hop rubber in place showing how it just overhangs the end of the barrel.
  4. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A close up of the original KJW rubber in place to show how it fits.
  5. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

The KJW rubber is at the top with the G&G Tanaka M700 at the bottom. I hope you can see that the KJW is slightly shorter than the G&G. Carefully trim the G&G in place in the barrel with a sharp blade.
  6. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

The kit consists of three parts only the far right part is required.
  7. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

The G&G hop rubber kit for the Tanaka M700 which contains a hop patch which can be modified to fit the KJW Ruger Mk1
  8. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

This is a view of the hop unit. As you can see I have used ptfe tape to try and improve the seal. The hop unit is only a push fit on the barrel and the hop rubber is only on part of the barrel so does not provide a good air seal.
  9. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

You can see in this view that the barrel is now a much better fit in to the newly installed brass sleeve. This stabilises the barrel.
  10. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A view in to the breech block. Make sure that the brass tube is flush with the inner face of the breech block and not intruding in to it. If it does stick out in to the breech block the pistol wont work.
  11. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Another view of the brass tube fitted to the breech block
  12. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A view of the brass tube fitted in to the breech block. The breech block need to be drilled out, or if you can reamed, to allow the brass tube to be a push fit in to the breech block.
  13. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Cut the brass tube to approx 50mm long. Ideally part it off in a lathe.
  14. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A view of the thin walled brass tube which is a better fit over the inner barrel and which can be fitted in to the breech block to better stabilise the inner barrel.
  15. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Closeup view of the breech block and the inner barrel and hop up assembly.
  16. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

The inner barrel OD is a very lose fit in the breech block. This allows the barrel to move around a lot when it is pulled back when the trigger is pulled. This leads to shot to shot inconsistency and innacuracy.
  17. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

A view of the breech block looking at where the brass tube will be installed.
  18. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Slide the breech assembly backwards and out through the bottom of the plastic body.
  19. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Remove the pistol grip assembly by sliding it forward and pulling it down gently.
  20. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

    The removed pin assembly.
  21. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Unclip the rear retaining pin and pull it free.
  22. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Remove the outer barrel from the body.
  23. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

Remove the small hex socket grub screw to remove the barrel.
  24. From the album: KJW Ruger Mk1 NBB Pistol Mods

    The pistol itself.
