soadrocker856
You forgot American cartoons. Not the kiddy ######, but the stuff like Family Guy, South Park, American Dad, King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Futurama (may you rest in peace), the list goes on. Plus, you got to like some of our other stuff like the Colbert Report. Did you guys forget the british "The Office"? It was filmed around 2003.
Kyrian_Zenda
Did you guys forget the british "The Office"? It was filmed around 2003.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a direct carbon copy of a British comedy, even using the same actors with some characters, and using the same directors. The British version came first, it's a British comedy.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Holmes
I'm perfectly happy with South Park: making fun of major world issues, in the most juvenile manner possible .
Pants of Death
Smeh... It's all funny. British, American, it doesn't make a difference. And the original post was a bit amusing, but not worth the read.

Cyber Soldier
I have to say that when it comes to American Comedy they have it spot on with the cartoons mentioned above and my fave show, Fraiser.
blasterbob
But "the office" is a british idea and was made and aired first in the UK
alpha54
The Office is a British show, but it did so well that they copied it with jokes that require less thinking for the American market...
Holmes
Daily Show, Colbert Report. They may have not invented the political pundant comedian, but they perfected it.

Chris North
I think it's funny. Although it's nothing comparable to an "Americans are dumbass hicks" joke.
Crazy_Harry
I personally think it has the potential to be up there with Alanis Morisette's "isn't it ironic?" which iseither a pitiful attempt at irony (nothing in the song is all that ironic, afterall) or an outrageously ironic song wherein the deep, beautiful irony is that its not about irony, but someone misinterpreting irony. While the death note of America isn't actually funny, per se, the deep irony is that it ISN'T funny. its almost how you'd expect a deeply patriotic person would write something while trying to BE funny about it, but only revealing deeper the unfunny nature of their own attitude towards their country and its behaviour. Even the title gives it away- The last superpower?! come on, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know China's going to be the next big player, but it DOES take that special kind of patriotism that certain people in the states can personify, in that its almost impossible to ackowledge either shortfallings (best of intentionsm, and all that. not REALLY our fault...), or a future WITHOUT the US as its alleged leader. so. unfunny attempt at apologist wit, or deeply intelligent statement about the nature of American Patriotism in the dying days of the empire? the choice, dear readers, is yours... amateurstuntman
Great post. I agree about that song however there is one example of irony. The title. Stunt
Epyon
Geez, Me thinks you guys are reading into this a tad too much. I know, I know, it was written by an American, so that automatically puts it under the magnifying glass of scrutiny, but come on. Take it for what it is, an Internet comedy article that pokes light fun at a few countries without opening any old wounds (except for Germany maybe). Crazy Harry probably put more time into trying to tear it apart, than the original author did writing it. I personally found it just funny enough to go to the trouble of posting it here, hoping to give a few people a little chuckle.
sturgis
"To Belgium, secret master of the french-fry, I donate all of my ketchup and ketchup manufacturers. All of those sissy European sauces and toppings are just pure silliness, and you'll realize that once you have some good old down home ketchup. Mayonnaise? Don't make me puke up Florida" this kills me last time i went to the US, i had to bring my own supply of Curry ketchup, co's all they know over there is tomato or mexican ketchup roflol! f00ls edit: but atleast he knows of the Belgian fry, so it's all good
