+gingernuts+
I have looked around and havn't found another post on this, but i could be wrong. The Warrior R.I.C.A.S. Now in stock in http://www.uktactical.com/acatalog/Warrior__R.I.C.A.S.html This is the nicest piece of kit i have ever seen! I don't even have an armalite yet, but hoping to get one and i love this bit of kit. It is £120, but i think it is worth that, but it is the price of a pistol or a small AEG. Does anyone have this? mrblah
so that is what they are calling repo CIRAS's these days. You should find out who makes it. If its phantom, then its a good buy. If its anyone else, I wouldnt buy it.
+gingernuts+
It's real steel gear. It was reviewed in AI, and given Top Kit Award. It says it's a MOLLE based system...
HeuteGegangen
Another fake CIRAS huh? Exciting.
+gingernuts+
oh, oops i thought this was something new. Have you got a web address for the real C.I.R.A.S?
Siygess
I don't think many people will have the RICAS yet because it's only just come in stock, but there are plenty of people here who will vouch for Warrior's other products. Granted, the design is based on Eagle's CIRAS, with (presumably) enough changes made to dodge the legal bullet unlike the more obvious copies. However, I believe Warrior gear (and perhaps to a lesser extent, Bulle with their CIRAV etc) is designed for use in the field by people who aren't airsofters.. yet the price is very airsofter-friendly Gingernuts, you might also want to consider the Bulle CIRAV - you can get it for about the same price (with pouches) but it's more like the land version of the CIRAS, where as the Warrior one is more like the Maritime version. EDIT: *lol* I gotta stop editing this post..
+gingernuts+
Thanks for the help Siygess, instead of just slateing me! To be Honest i am not bothered if it is a fake, but if you say the Bulle CIRAV is better i will take a look at it. cheers for help
Siygess
To be honest, it's 50/50 between the two, and it really depends on which style of CIRAS you prefer. The most obvious difference is that the drag handle is on the front of the RICAS, and on the back for the CIRAV. I think the access panel for the pull cord is on the front of the CIRAV and on the back of the RICAS.. really, you just want to compare the two visually and decide which one you prefer the look of
tome
There is an important difference between the CIRAV and the RICAS. It is that the CIRAV is not releaseable!!!! (please correct me if i'm mistaken, not kept up to date on CIRAV development) Looks to me that the RICAS is indeed based on the CIRAS, obvious difference being that there are two lanyard loops in the release mechanism vs the single one in the CIRAS. I doubt that there is any functional difference though and it does indeed acheive the CIRAS look.
Siygess
Yeah I think you're right - though I'm not sure many people would actually want to use the release mechanism so I guess that's not a terrible thing
Fullauto
All I've heard about Warrior platforms is good. The RICAS seems like a good deal, comes with plenty of pouches too. Anyone else see the RICAS compact in AI? Looks very funky, but it's not on the UK tac website yet...
+gingernuts+
yea i saw that, I love AI, but they always make mistakes, they have and picture of the R.I.C.A.S, and they named it the MCP 77 Chest Rig and they priced the R.I.C.A.S at £175 not £120. I really like this, i might get it if i ever get a armilite! - hopefully!
Siygess
You could always sell the M4 pouches that come with it and replace them with some MP5 MOLLE pouches instead.. then you wouldn't need to splash out on an Armalite http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/ustmp5nx.html
Vigil
Looks pretty good to me. Not a bad deal for a cordura & double stitched built RICAS vest. Just...why....why would they make the release cable neon green!? That kind of thing really confuses me. They expect us to wear these to a disco or something?
Fullauto
The cable is covered up during normal wear. It's the colour it is to help you find it in an emergency life-or-death situation.
finderella1
Does anyone have a pic of the compact ricas?
Fullauto
I've fired off an email at UK tac about the compact R.I.C.A.S. If I get anything back I'll be sure to share it
Fullauto
I ask, they answer (very fast too! I'm impressed ). No pictures unfortunately, but they said they sold all their compact ones as soon as that article came out! New stock due in 5 weeks I'd scan a picture, but I left the mag at uni... +gingernuts+
Oh yea MP5 Pouches! Cheers Siygess, I still want an M4 though it will be my next gun. I want to see the Compact with some pouches on to get a better look of it, it's much more affordable aswell.
Belladonna
IT IS REAL... warrior are real steal kit makers... this is simply thier verison of the same vest, only redesigned to work better in and out of vehicles... (rides higher up) so its not a fake ciras... it also has a real world price, unlike eagles daylight robbery...
+gingernuts+
It's real steel gear. It says it's a MOLLE based system... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cheers Belladonna, i thought it was, but then people said it wasn't, i thoguht it wasn't....
aber_guy11
Looks pretty sweet. I'm definately going to have to get my hands on one of those. How much is that in USD?
+gingernuts+
$236, Aber it would go well with the M4!
HeuteGegangen
What makes this stuff 'real kit' and not just some replica for airsofters? It seems like the same ###### J-Tech pulls, trying to sell fake stuff to real operators. And whats up with a green cable?
Serotonin
Just posting to reinforce just how good this Warrior gear is. I have their light plate carrier (its basically same design as a Weesatch) and in comparison to the HSGI ones that my mates have there is practically no difference in quality. I also got to see pretty much the whole Warrior range at a trade stall UK Tactical had and it was all top quality gear at a really good price. My Weesatch copy was less than half the price of the HSGI one.
