Hispeed1
I haven't seen ACU RAV, when I walked through the PJs gear room, I did see a Khaki RAV. Khaki/MJK FTW! That color is used a lot with modern US BDU's in the current AO's.

Hendrix2247
Sounds good. And you could use it with pretty much any uniform, but I think it would look amazing in woodland. However, the pack doesn't seem right By the way, what color PACA is kosher for AFSOC? Khaki? Edited December 22, 2008 by Hendrix2247
The Crunchy Bunny
Khaki/ Tan.
Hendrix2247
Alright, would a Ranger Green Eagle RRV work for a USAFSOC kit? I would be using: - DCU/BDU or ACU - Khaki riggers belt - Tan Wellco Boots - Tan SDS MICH 2000 or Red Sox Cap - Wiley X Glasses - Replica Sordins (maybe) - Coyote Mechanix - G&G SCAR 2nd Line: - Ranger Green Eagle RRV w/bib folded down - TAG triple double magazine pouch (RG) - TT Medical Pouch (RG) - GP Pouch (CB) - Khaki/Tan PACA 3rd Line: - Eagle IIIA Pack in Black or OD (or an ALICE pack) Edited December 22, 2008 by Hendrix2247
The Crunchy Bunny
IDK, I think a MJK RRV would be better, since I've never seen a RG RRV being used by a AFSOC member.
Hendrix2247
You are right, but I do do not feel like changing it out yet (already have one in RG). However, they are issued to USAF Security Forces http://afforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9861&page=
Wrench Bender
Just because one unit has it does not mean all units will get it. Those gear kits are purchased at the major command level. AMC units don't have the same kits that the guys with ACC have or the guys with AETC have. If you read the guys post he is with AFSOC. Hendrix2247
Thank you, Wrench Bender. After reading on, I realized that as well. Maybe Ranger Green isn't perfect, but it has seen use
Wrench Bender
I have seen pics of AF types wearing RG gear as well. Not totaly sure on what AFSC they are or what units they belong to but it has been done. Though the stuff I saw looked to be made by Eagle.
Jolly15
SF gets ACU gear, I've seen IBAs and that new DFLCS kit stuff. Also PJ/CCT/AFSOC use whatever they want, there is no "they get issued this" they pick what they want to use.
Hendrix2247
Thank you, Jolly15. One of the other users on the forum I linked to is TACP, and was issued an ACU IOTV. So, I am thinking that a PACA is pretty standard, but they use pretty much whatever they want over it. In addition, on the Air Force recruiting site they show a video of TACPs using Woodland BDUs, Sordins, large ALICE packs, and OD TT MAVs with Y-harnesses.
Jolly15
And when I say SF I mean Security Forces, not Special forces, just to clear up anything. And sure, go with a PACA, I've seen pics with a PJ wearing a PACA some were, or something similar. I'll go try to find it for you.
Hendrix2247
I understood that. And I have a lot of pics of them wearing PACAS and chest rigs. It seems that PACAs with chest rigs or Paraclete HPCs are the most common, although I do have a couple pics of USAFSOC operators using Eagle PCs and RRVs (all khaki, though)
Jolly15
RAV were used, and CRCH. Assortments of chest rigs also.
Jolly15
RAVs in MJK and SG.
The Crunchy Bunny
I'd say the best rig for any PJ impression is the Paraclete HPC in either SG or CB. Generally worn over a PACA, but I have a few pics were it isn't. A close second would be the TT 1 or 2 piece MAV. That seems like the way to go if your set on a Chest Rig-PACA combo. Jolly15
Or that weird SDS LBV thing with the diagonal mag pouches. But really PJs pick what works for them, and for an impression just balance out fight supplies with medic stuff.
The Crunchy Bunny
I think your thinking of the SDS LBV-88 the SDS FLC is also worn alot, always over a PACA. Yeah, they use a ton of different stuff, but I just think the Paraclete HPC or TT MAV screams AFSOC more then other rigs.
Hendrix2247
I agree, TCB. I guess I would have to go with a TT MAV. And Jolly15, are you currently serving?
Jolly15
No, but my dad is.
Blindside
Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians unearth a cache of bomb making material at the side of a road. U.S Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 8th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, and Iraqi soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 19th Brigade, 5th Division, are preparing palm groves around Naqib, Iraq, for a controlled burn that will expose or detonate the massive amounts of booby traps, improvised explosive devices and weapons caches that are hindering local Iraqi's attempts to farm this al-Qaida stronghold on Dec. 22. This joint clearing operation is the second phase of an operation in which this new searching technique is being tested. The Crunchy Bunny
Navy, again. In the subtitle, they mean AFSOC, not EOD in general. Every branch of the military has a EOD unit, Navy EOD is just the most well known.
navymp28
Navy, again. In the subtitle, they mean AFSOC, not EOD in general. Every branch of the military has a EOD unit, Navy EOD is just the Best. Fixed it for you
