SlvrDragon50
Alright.. Ill try to explain this as best as I can and Ill get pictures in hte morning. I took hte slide off the gun.. and I'm staring at the guts of the lower frame. When the trigger is pulled on a G23, it activates a bar on the right side of the gun which pushes on a small bar under the hammer. On my G18, the bar on the right side of the gun slides below the small bar. Is there a way to resolve this?

SlvrDragon50
Im trying to get my camera to let me take a macro picture o.O It hates me.. I can upload a small picture.
Five-sEvEn
Sounds like your trigger return spring isn't strong enough, transfer bar isn't lubed enough, or may be somehow bent
SlvrDragon50
If I use my finger to hold hte bar up while pulling the trigger, the hammer will move.. Is it possible to make something make the bar move up?
Five-sEvEn
I believe that is the spring that keeps the trigger bar up. At least that seems to be the case on my g26cs. But I think I need a parts diagram to confirm my assumptions.
SlvrDragon50
I suppose. I see how that could work.. The spring does look a weeee bit loose compared to the G23..
Carbine
The spring you're referring to is the trigger return spring. The bar should pop up when the spring pulls it back to battery. What kind of firing problems are you experiencing exactly?
SlvrDragon50
Doesnt fire at all. Probably because the trigger cant activate the hammer.
Carbine
So the hammer cocks when you cock the gun, but when you pull the trigger (without the mag in the gun) You can't hear / feel the hammer releasing? Check the metal cage the hammer mech sits in. There's a small pin that protrudes toward the right side of the gun (looking at the gun from the back) right below the trigger bar. Is it intact? SlvrDragon50
I dont know if it cocks when I pull the gun.. Im not sure I know what you are talking about.. Do you have a picture? Is it the bar in the 2nd picture I got it to fire.. Im sticking a guitar pick to help the trigger spring require less tension.. Now, it has trouble firing like a normal gun.. Jams after every shot.. and on full auto, it blows out all the gas.
Carbine
Well, if you can remove the slide from the gun then the hammer is cocking properly. You could also have a broken floating valve. It's located in the cylinder. Also check the feed ramp right below the hop adjustment. It could be broken and preventing the slide from fully returning to battery.
SlvrDragon50
Well.. If I cock the gun again after it jams. Then it will return to position.. I noticed that the gun still fires while its on the field strip mode..
Sh0ty
The middle position? That's odd. So, it doesn't fire on semi or auto, but it does on disassembly? -Sh0ty
SlvrDragon50
No, it fires on all positions now.. Well, on auto it fires all the gas..
Sale
From the pics it looks like your trigger bar is bent slightly, rubbing against the frame and preventing free movement. Check that first. As weak as the trigger return spring is, it has plenty enough strength to work when the mechanism is otherwise fine. -Sale
SlvrDragon50
I think thats it. I put the guitar pick there to move it.. But I guess it to was creating too much friction..
