HK- Did you keep the double thumb-safety on it or go for a single? and.. (yet another question...) I just clicked - those aint the standard WilsonCombat style sights... what are they? hkssr20det
I went single side, and those are the SD approximations of the Kimber style fixed sights.
Wege
Nice call... nice call. That would have gone nicely in my m12 holster..
the4thpower3
Not that this question is particularly relevant.. but close. Is the 1911 inner barrel different from the 2011? If so.. in what way? Any one have pics of the 2 side by side?
azn1stknightsoul
Not that this question is particularly relevant.. but close. Is the 1911 inner barrel different from the 2011? If so.. in what way? Any one have pics of the 2 side by side? inner barrels are the same. basically, all tm gbbs have the same grove for hop up. only difference is the length. the4thpower3
"inner barrels are the same. basically, all tm gbbs have the same grove for hop up. only difference is the length. " ^Really!? Can anyone else confirm? If this is true I'd be quite happy
hkssr20det
These barrels can all be swapped: Hi Capa 5.1 & 4.3 1911 P226 Glock 17 Glock 26 The Beretta and DE use different cut outs. The Detonics uses the same hop up cut, but uses other cuts in the barrel for the centering system.
the4thpower3
WOOHOOO!! That's awsome! so why don't they brand them for other models? I've wanted to get a PDI 7" 6.01 i/b but can't find them for TM hi-cap 5.1 but I've seen it for 1911.. doesn't make much sense to me. if you are right then I am a very happy man
Romulus
He's right. On another note the TM 1911 and TM Hi-Capa 5.1 barrels even happen to be the exact same length (112.5mm).
Wege
well, aren't they both sposed to be 5.1in 'guns' in real life? *note... has not gone looking for barrel lengths of either.. D: *

The Detonics uses the same hop up cut, but uses other cuts in the barrel for the centering system. Correction: the Glock 26 inner barrel has different cuts (same for hop-up though), it swaps barrels with the VSR-10. Unless TM made a new G26 version. On another note the TM 1911 and TM Hi-Capa 5.1 barrels even happen to be the exact same length (112.5mm). Same goes for G17 and P226 barrels too; identical dimensions. Unless TM made a new G26 version. What cut outs are different? I know they all share the same hop up cut outs (and the VSR).
Romulus
So just to make sure that I understand this right, VSR barrels are compatible with Hi Capa 5.1 & 4.3, 1911, P226, Glock 17 & Glock 26? I see the potential for an interesting project... Also hkssr20det, is it possible to run a longer TM barrel in the Detonics even if it doesn't have the stabilization cuts? hkssr20det
Haven't tried it yet. Unfortunately I sent the whole barrel assembly up to DB Customs, can't check now.
Utty
Yes, the hop-up cutouts on all TM GBB (except M9 and DE) and the VSR barrels are all 100% compatible. But the cutouts that hold the barrel in the hop-up assembly (the small vertical notch on either side of the barrel, just in front of the front end of the hop-up rubber) are not. The G26 and the VSR have identical notches, sitting closer to the hop-up rubber than all the other barrels. Of course, it's a simple matter to make new notches, can be done with a needle file or some careful dremeling. So making a PDI 7inch fit in a G26 or a VSR G-spec barrel fit a Hi-Capa can be done in minutes.
Romulus
Thanks for the specific answer Utty. It would be awfully cool to see what a VSR barrel would do in a Hi-Capa. I think I hear a project calling my name...
Utty
It'd give evil fps, for one thing.
