hogtied212
hello, does anyone know of a program that can play .AVI files? I have Windows Media Player, Quicktime, and ATI File Player but they all just play the sounds from the file but not the video. Any programs out there you know of....? joeking27
I seem to use winamp to play *.avi
doc_newstead
You don't need a new program, just the codec. Here it is http://www.divx.com/divx/download/ Forgive me for saying wow, but welcome to the world of .avi's. It amazes when people discover the DivX codec for the first time; it's like a car user discovering they have more than 1 gear Just install that and you'll be able to watch .avi's on Media Player. God willing.
systema
Yep, all you need are the codecs.
Shao14
Heh, yep, looks like you don't have the correct codec installed on your computer. The most popular ones are divx and xvid. Go install those, and play the file in Windows Media Player again.
HaVoC
Yep, all you need are the codecs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs. There's nothing you can do that can't be done. Nothing you can sing that can't be sung. Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game It's easy. There's nothing you can make that can't be made. No one you can save that can't be saved. Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time It's easy. All you need are codecs, all you need is codecs, All you need are codecs, codecs, codecs are all you need. Codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs, codecs. All you need are codecs, all you need are codecs, All you need are codecs, codecs, codecs are all you need. There's nothing you can know that isn't known. Nothing you can see that isn't shown. Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy. All you need are codecs, all you need are codecs, All you need are codecs, codecs, codecs are all you need. All you need are codecs (all together now) All you need are codecs (everybody) All you need are codecs, codecs, codecs are all you need.

sp00n
Do a google search for a program called VLC, it plays all the "divx" style files but you dont have to go searching for new codecs every 30 minutes.
Jow
I highly recommend the Nimo codec pack. Very unlikely you'll go looking for codecs again with it installed. http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html
