millest
with the changes to buying guns is it worth showing in you profile or avatar that your ukara registered? it doesnt have to be your membership number but just a little icon. so say once all the regiustrations are complete we add this feature where people enter their membership number in their profile info, this is checked with the dbase to confirm its real and then a small ukara icon appears under thier avatar etc. then it means people wanting to sell their aegs etc will be able to do so without going through the whole process of asking, reasking, asking again and then finally trying to check the dbase before reasking? just a little idea but something that might help with the security on sales of second hand guns millest
Coldgunner
I think this is a pretty good idea. although what system would be used to verify it and it can't reveal things like numbers? also it could be abused by unscrupulous people 'borrowing' accounts
Pablo
Personally, I wouldn't consider an avatar proof of anything, and I strongly recommend that you don't either. Picture yourself in court shouting "But he'd got a UKARA avatar on Arnies, your honour!" as they take you down. Sorry to widdle on the idea. Besides, membership of the UKARA scheme isn't required by law (and the scheme isn't designed for second hand sales anyway). So long as you are happy that they are a member of a site with public liability insurance and is over 18, and you retain evidence that you performed adequate checks to ensure that this was the case (just in case the Old Bill come a-knocking) then you should be fine.
