evilliboba
You've probably never seen a graphics card use so much power either. What does that sucker eat a couple hundred watts?
Night_raven
You've probably never seen a graphics card use so much power either. What does that sucker eat a couple hundred watts?  400watts minimum.  600watts maximum (800 to run in SLi mode)   Infact, it needs its own power lead, just to power it
Moriquende
400watts minimum. 600watts maximum (800 to run in SLi mode)   Infact, it needs its own power lead, just to power it  Those are recommendations for the whole comp. The graphic card probably doesnt need more than 250 while under load. Also, most PCI-E cards needs to be connected with an extra power lead due to the PCI-E bus not being able to provide more than 100W.  Edited June 24, 2008 by Moriquende
Weirdguy
Infact, it needs its own power lead, just to power it  My 6800gs needs it's own power lead. Now, if it took 3 of them...
Night_raven
My 6800gs needs it's own power lead. Now, if it took 3 of them... Â There are motherboards available which do have that capability. Â .. Plus, look up intels "Skulltrail" motherboard, and count how many CPU sockets it has. Â Â and it has 4 PCI-E slots for GC's. Â

Lithium Jack
Cyber Soldier, which system do you play? I used to play Labyrinthe for a few years, until real life took over. Would love to go back this summer though. Edited June 24, 2008 by Lithium Jack
Cyber Soldier
I don't actually play any system but I am looking at a few. I have friends who do Lorien Trust and Maelstrom looks like fun too.  The craftsmanship is second to none, you can't see it too well but it has a tri-fullered blade, it's actually one of a kind and the whole lot cost me £206.02 including shipping.  Jack, if you're interested I'm setting up a unit to take to a few systems. I can email you the info, just shoot me a PM. Edited June 25, 2008 by Cyber Soldier
