Hehe, yup. Salt water.

 

But that probably won't work with painted AKs. I chemically finished mine (Aluminum black and cold bluing), then wore it down, polished, saltwatered, let it sit (and corrode/rust), and then clean and polish again.

 

And yes the body is a cheap aluminum Element brand AK-74 body. Modding on the folding stock was a *badgeress*. Aluminum corrodes in white, steel corrodes in rust (orangish-brown) color.

 

I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out really. And what a great response from everyone, thanks ;)

Any tips or tricks?

 

Tie a long cord around the front sight, then tie the other end to your belt.

 

Then run as fast as you can around a large area of concrete, making sure the AK bounces around and follows you.

 

Check it every five minutes or so to see if it's worn enough.

Start with blacktop, then concrete, then fine sand. It's like different grits of sandpaper!
