thanks :)

its sniper tape which at first looked like a massive roll of plaster tape but i dusted it with chalk first then masked the gun off and sprayed it with Krylon Sand then Krylon Khaki and then gave the gun a light dust for the dirty affect, and spinkled some more chalk on the tape to make it look like its bashed against rocks etc.

I think everybodies weathering and aging work is unique and personal, however I can't stress enough searching the web for pictures of deactiviated guns, or any other real-steel version of the weapon you are trying to replicate.

 

There is nothing worse that to spend time working on a gun only to realize you may have 'gone to far' amd you have to start over. :rolleyes:
