Romulus, I just stripped one of the screws today. Very annoying. Would the hogue RS grip screws fit the KJW P229?

I cannot say anything good about the KJW screws. The previous owner of the P229 that I had manages to break two of them off in the gun.

 

I bought an RS grip spcrew some time ago to try and I couldn't get it to fit (it was pretty far out of airsoft spec). However, I have seen people redrill and tap metal kits so that they can use RS screws. Short of that it's a bit of a pain to find new screws.

 

I think that there's something up with image shack since I have seen this multiple places. I am in the process of putting this and other guides in a published format for ASB and since the images will be rehosted through the site I don't know if I'll get around to fixing this one.

So.... real hogue screws would not fit the metal KJW P229? Damnit. How do I go about redrilling and tapping metal kits?

Anyone knows what the thread specs are for the KJW grip screws? I have an opportunity to get some custom screws made and shipped over cheaply. If I can get the thread specs (eg. m2, m3, m4, 4-40) then I can possibly get them custom made.

Does anyone know if the PDI Paisonite Grip Screw for Hi-Capa Series(Black) will fit a TM226? They look like they might.
