Reborn Posted December 18, 2008 Report Share Posted December 18, 2008 I do it out of convenience. I'm a large man and the G&P sling isn't the best fit. When in the safe zone, I tend to wear it normally. However, it makes the switch to firing stance slow and difficult. Wearing the sling with the loop around my neck gives the best range of motion for my carbine. In the field, the only times I let my carbine hang free is when I have to suddenly switch to my sidearm.
