Mr.Hyde
So the plastic grips on my M29 are really lame, and I want new ones. I would like some like the ones on the Tanaka M500, if I can get them. I don't know if I want RS woodgrips, but I may do that. I would like something comfy, like rubber though. Any help with this would be really great. Thanks

3Len
ebay.An M29 would be an N frame and square butt. The rubber grip are "Hogue" grip, the cheapest. They look more aggressive and functional, lovely really.
snowman
Nah, they look all wrong on a 29 Get some S&W Target grips (like the original plastic ones, but real wood) - Nothing else really looks right on a black/blued 6"+ barreled .44 IMo.. Cheers.
Utty
Agreed! The M629 I had came with Hogue grips, but the first thing I did was get factory walnut S&W grips. Nothing else will do.

3Len
Hogue Grips look better on silver guns while wood grips look better on black guns.I agree. Den Trinity (HK) just listed some new real wood grips for the Tanaka M29 ,priced at $69 .Check them out.
snowman
I actually fired a 29 once and it had Pachmayr rubber grips like this one : An interesting compromise of rubber and the more traditional target grip styling. Cheers. PS Think I paid about $25 for my wood grips....
hkssr20det
I prefer the long handled, wood grips myself:
Utty
Pachmayr presentation grips would be my 2nd choice, classy grips.
BigAl
Had rubber grips on my 3" 629, changed them for factory combat grips. Looked and handled far better, though they weren't checkered. The classic M29 6.5" does look best with some geuine Factory Target Grips though. Don't bother with the Airsoft Copies on Den, RS look far better and are cheaper.
