Charly Driver
Why don't you polish the tube that came with the frame kit? It would look stainless enough. Â I had thought. Is there any topic where explain how to do? Â

davedawg123
I just can't seem to stay away from the bling...   TM Detonics Chrome based Guarder Detonics metal kit Custom bobbed hammer Guarder 150% recoil spring Pachmayr Detonics grips  It's not a Tiki, but damn, it's sweet. My first Guarder kit, and for the price I'm pleasantly surprised. Sure, there are some casting imperfections (usually in areas not normally visible) but the electroplating really finishes it off nicely. My only disappointment is the less glossy finish of the barrel compared to the stock one or the Guarder body, but I can see how wear could affect the glossier finish more so its not really a big deal. This is my first compact 1911 and the grip is quite short. The Pachmayr grips do a good job of filling out and providing more of a grip though. It's a little strange going back to a full 1911 grip afterwards. Frankly, the look of the Detonics with its wonky rear sight never really appealed to me which is why I didn't go for a Nova or SD kit. However, after trying it out myself I can tell why people like it and I'm glad I got it.  And for the curious, the stock body is not the cheap toy-like chrome finish of the DE or P226 but instead is more matte like silver WAs. It's pretty nice actually. The stock body will most likely go up for sale shortly in case anyone might be interested.
EmptyChambers
Hey guys. With the addition of a threaded barrel, how much can you extend the inner? I assume about a half inch, which probably isn't worth it. Â That said, I'd heard of getting a 6 inch into it, which may be worthwhile. Any thoughts? And yes, I'm pretty sure I asked this before, but I didn't get an answer... Edited November 10, 2008 by EmptyChambers
felix4536
A threaded barrel adds 1 inch so a 6inch innerbarrel fits perfectly.
GrimGram
I've been thinking about building a detonics with a suppressor, so my question is; is there a threaded barrel for the TM Detonics out there?
