wwjkc
ditto. . show me a full metal SVI IED and you got the "Holy Grail" of FM 1911s. another impressive piece would be a FM Compact Wilson..(ie. Wilson trademarked frame) now don't kill yourself
EmptyChambers
Nothing special compared to some of the phenomenal guns in here, but I'm pretty satisfied with her. Got a Serpa coming as a christmas gift to myself, so I'll be rocking pretty. Edited December 17, 2008 by EmptyChambers
PMMJKL
I'm loving the wood grips Empty, they really add a good look to the gun, very nice. Edited December 18, 2008 by PMMJKL
Mr Foxhound
Yeah. Kinda makes it look like the MGS4 Operator with that setup. Cant wait to get my MEU soon now!
AliceHKfan
D=! ah my (ex-)MEU!!
FireKnife
Nice MEU, anyone know where i can get the Detonics safety on it's own, i have built a custom operator for myself but i just need a different, one sided safety like the Detonics. Will get some pics up when i am back home, especially as it has a new silencer and possubly the new grips now. 'FireKnife'
Carter
DUBOIS: Does the WE 1911 Tactical fit the SERPA without modification?
FireKnife
Actually a cheap answer to the Operator kind of pistol could be achieved by putting a set of TM 1911 grips on a MEU then adding a threaded barrel and finally swapping the sights. Ok it's nowhere near perfect but it looks close enough. 'FireKnife'
RockDog
I neve really thought how the MEU would look with wood grips, but I have to say I like yours Empty. Fireknife, I have a Detonics safety, has a bit of wear on it, but with a bit of Krylon would look smart. If you want to do a swap for a standard safety let me know.
FireKnife
Will have to put some of mine up with the new safety and wood grips too when i get round to it, i have too many extras for one pistol it seems. Ah well it serves me well so deserves it lol. 'FireKnife'
RockDog
You can never have too many extras mate
EmptyChambers
Thanks guys. I honestly didn't think it would be even worth considering how plain it is compared to some of the other pieces. That said, I do believe that the wood grips and 9ball recoil rod help to make it. s85sss
have anyone tried the guarder metal chamber for WA? How are those comparing with SD ones?
birchm
have anyone tried the guarder metal chamber for WA? How are those comparing with SD ones? I had one of their championship chamber/barrel setups for a WA with comp, it was good build quality, easily on par with SD, better considering SD didn't make that setup actually. Psychosis
Quick question - RS grip screws will work with Western Arms 1911's, correct? Is there any modification that needs to be done? I need to get a replacement set, and potentially an aftermarket RS grip as well.
chris u'5
Quick question - RS grip screws will work with Western Arms 1911's, correct? Is there any modification that needs to be done? I need to get a replacement set, and potentially an aftermarket RS grip as well. They don't fit I'm afraid. If you have a Prime metal kit with the Prime grip screw bushings then yeah but otherwise no It really sucks. If you hunt around a hardware store you might get lucky and find a set, take your original grip screws with you to compare. As long as the thread size is correct you can always cut them shorter. I've got some Sheriff silver hex screws you can have but it'll cost ya RS grips will fit fine by the way.
Karnage
WA uses M4 threading, finding screws isn't that hard, but finding screws with nice heads is harder.
FireKnife
Finally i have got round to this, some pics of my MEU Custom and TRP: This is my attempt at an early model TRP, it is a MEU with single sided safety (will be replaced with a Detonics one soon) and a set of TM 1911 grips. Nothing fancy just a TM MEU with the safety and the hammer pin from a 1911 (soon to be replaced with a Detonics one), a set of real Hogue grips, a Nineball threaded outer barrel and a KA Delta Silencer. And finally one of the Custom in it's own case. It is a Cuban cigar case that gives off a nice aged wood and smoke smell lol. It's not much but it works fine for me. RockDog
Like it mate, you gonna get a alu frame or just leave it as is?
FireKnife
For this one i am planning to leave it at that. But when i get a bit more confidence about stripping down my 1911's i will try at some point to make a black slide, silver frame one with black grips. Rather like the one that was used in Terminator 2 (turns out it is a Detonics company product, or has the parts of one i think). 'FireKnife'
