-Drake-
Cheers =] the slide and trigger are next on the list. Just need to decide on what slide to get. Any suggestions/reccomendations ?
SamJacksonFan
Koba Parts are exellent … drop and fit … Satisfied with the Koba frame? Thinking about to get one myselft. Pitty they're only available in OD and not in black at the retailers. I ask because it says fibreglas, lightweight …
-Drake-
Happy enough with it. It has a more textured feel than the standard smoother tm frame. Cant really feel any difference in weight but it does feel solid.
RacingManiac
It'll be cool if you can build one of those Wilson Combat 1911, which has a frame in OD, but I don't recall ever seeing the proper slide made.....
HKpilz
I think if you had a blank slide, you could possible have the wilson combat trades engraved on it.
judgeman
Do they even make blank 1911A1 slides? I knew they made blank bodies for the M4's but...
RacingManiac
only think I could think of is a KJW slide....which would fit on a TM. But that would be a 1911A1 GI slide... Maybe a new KJW Hi-Capa slide, that should fit too with a slide spacer...
DarkLite
Well, you could try the BELL M1911 slide/frame set, IIRC the trades on that are painted on and not etched.
HKpilz
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that nova made a blank mbk.
RacingManiac
never seen one....I thought I've seen a blank Guarder kit... IMO the problem will be the sight, as Wilson Combat would be a modern 1911 where as most non-uber-costly 1911MBK are made in the 1911A1 style with small GI sight...
-Drake-
Was thinking of a guarder Springfield slide as i can fit the correct sights. Question is will the tm1911 inards fit the slide see'ing as its for a hi-cappa ?
RacingManiac
yes all the parts inside are common, the difference is that the stock 1911 has a small piece of rail that screws in, but no aftermarket Hi-Capa or 1911 slides uses it...
airsofter0866
Evike sucks but they have a pre-made wilson combat http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=29634
RacingManiac
Thats a WE, thus the compatibility with his TM 1911 parts is questionable...
judgeman
I've heard that some of the WE's can be quite the nail drivers if upgraded with TM parts. Any truth to this?
masakarijoe
^yeah, but when they get dirty, they tend to not fire so hot... at least mine didnt. my TM, on the other hand, fires great even when dirty -Joe
fal
nail drivers? As far as WE mixing with TM parts goes, it needs major work to get things work efficiently and smoothly. Trigger is off dimension, MSH is not compatible with TM 1911/aftermarket. Ambi safety is very lose when fitted to TM/aftermarket 1911 frame that they literly falls out. Beaver tail is also not compatible with TM/aftermarket. Hammer woobles or too tight with TM/aftermarket one. Recoil plug is too lose. Barrel bushing won't fit on TM/compatible slides. Barrel has horrible painted finish. Piston "cup" is too lose on cylinder/nozzle. Leaf spring is not compatible with TM/compatible and hopup unit is ###### *suitcase*. On top of that, you can't use TM 1911 mags in it. Of course all these can be worked on and made to work each other. I have done this mine before but IMO not worth the time and effort. Better start with TM if anyone are after anything quality and performing. Oh yeah and after some regular field use, the paint finish on the frame chips off too rather than "wearing" out. This is not so with my Nova kit and PGC slides, although they were put through even heavier use than WE. With those they properly "wears" out around edges like real guns where WE just chips off, thanks to thick cheap paints. WE 1911 series is like their Hicapa series converted to single stack. Rather than properly made 1911.
RockDog
Yes it is =] Was dreading having to do any sanding or modding to get it on but luckily i didnt have to as it fitted like a glove. Also replaced the standard hammer with an X-fire delta hammer heres a better pic. Looks brilliant mate, glade you liked the frame. Thats ths same configuration I had set up when I was using it. SamJacksonFan
Nice gils, smart look, but does she have any idea what she's doing there? (hope it is not yourself, iWiLL ) This is no Marui on the picture, at least not a stock one. I guess a ProWin SFA 1911 kit, right?

felix4536
Maniac, thinking about making a indepth review about the MEU??? question: is the mag bumper rubber or plastic??? and is the ambi safeties loose??
Bronco5150
I can answer that. The safeties are nice and tight, and the mag bumper is plastic.
Badly Browned
A question on the new TM Wilson Combat magazines: Does the mag bumper hinder filling the magazine with gas? On my WA, I would remove the bumper when I wanted to fill it with gas. Also, anyone going to do an in-depth review? I have one myself on the way
masakarijoe
how are you going to do a review if you dont have it? no, the bumper does not at all get in the way. -Joe
