SamJacksonFan
quiksilver6184, could it be that the left site of your SFA says PROFESSIONAL? Or is it marked model 1911 A1? Because your slide seems to be a custom shop, just serations put over it.
quiksilver6184
Hehe, it says proffesional. Â I just wanted to see what you guys really thought before I told you that it is infact the WE SFA MEU. Â I did a little work refinishing the slide and frame, and I have done quite a bit of other work to it. I have polished all of the internals to a mirror shine, including the blowback housing hop up unit, and the inner rails of the gun. I have also installed a TK twist barrel and KM hop up rubber. I just placed the order for an RS magwell extension, and full length recoil rod. Â Â

I'd just change the sight if you get the chance into a rear sight with Novak dimensions. Â

Ronin00033
Bob Chow Custom 1.5: Prime Metal Kit Boomarms custom Bob Chow Steel Chamber  Delta Elite: Standard (Apart from the fact it was the silver model!) SamJacksonFan
Oh, very nice, Bob Chow in full metal. I proudly can say I had the honor to test the stock one, and that already is phantastic. This is a beauty. And the Delta Elite, too. Wished I could have one of them myself. Have fun. RacingManiac
not mine, saw this on some other forum....real trijicon sight fits Nova kits?
pforcerecon
hey guys, so i'm basically looking for some help here. i'm looking for a 1911 (of course) that's full metal and preferably has full trades and no rail on the bottom, since i have a classic surefire light that i wanna attach. now i was thinking about getting the TM Meu and then a kimber metal body kit, preferably the lapd one. and was first wondering if any tm 1911 would do or is there a specific one? also, which site would be best recomended for first of all having the kits, and secondly being able to deliver with good service? i've heard good and bad things about boomarms, dealt with den trinity in the past and waited a long a** time, have yet to deal with uncompany or wgc but have noticed they're quite out on most the things i look for. and of course was looking at the new WE gun full metal wilson combat, but of course might get it down the road, but for now just looking for a full metal 1911, no bottom rail, trades, and at a readily available pricing. Â and now i'm gonna read this thread through, but thought i'd first give this a shot. thanks and sorry in advance. and trust me i've googled and shopped around but am just not sure. fal
I frequently shop at wgcshop and redwolf and they are both good. I don't know what's up with uncompany thesedays but my exprience with them in the past wasn't pleasant. Airsoftglobal is also another shop I sometimes visit but shipping cost is more than what they charge at wgcshop and redwolf. Gunsnguys is also another retailer I frequently shop at. Â It really depends on what you want but you would find that you won't be able to get all the parts from a single shop. Mostly due to parts are out of stock so you have to order from elsewhere. Gunsnguys stocks Nova control parts under "Prime" section. Redwolf stocks both Nova controls and metal kits but most likely the kits would be out of stock, which in case you have to buy these seperately from airsoftglobal. WGC shop doesn't sell many Nova parts either Airsoft surgeon parts. Â As far as building your own 1911 goes, it depends on which model you want and how specific you want. If you want 100% specific you would most likley replace almost everything no matter which pistol you start from, especially if you want Kimber series. TM 1911 is good gun to start if you want more of "classic" side. If you want modern piece, MEU is better one to start from. Â Taiwan made MEU which is WE based has no rails. WE 1911 series is all o.k. but keep in mind that you can't use TM 1911 magazine in it. You can only use WE proprietary magazines. Â WA has more varients. If you want something like Kimber warrior, it is easier (and possibly cheaper) to start with WA SCW2/3 kinds, granted if you can find full metal kit or metal slide. WA will give better kick per gas compare to TM. Also works slightly better when it's cold. Spare mags are expensive though. Â Hope this helps.
davedawg123
The only problem I've had with BA is that they can be slow to answer emails sometimes. Otherwise, top notch. Den is great too, as are UNCo, RW, WGC, ASG, and GnG. Â Nova kits are meant for the A1 but they may work with the MEU with some minor mods. Thanks to Rockdog and neptunetq, I have a Nova kit and MEU project in the works. Â As for the classic surefire, is it the kind that mounts through the slide stop? If so, you may have some problems as I believe there are some differences between TM and RS slide stops. As I recall, a RS slide stop requires a longer nub to reach the TM mag's follower. Â On a side note, anyone have a black Nova beavertail grip safety they wouldn't mind parting with? If so, PM me with details.
pforcerecon
thansk fal, and this does help. basically i wanna go for a modern look, something that would work with either a force recon load-out, or say a swat load out. i know i've seen that boomarms has metal kits in stock, but am kinda weary buying from them since i don't want my first experience to necessarily be my last. i was looking at getting the tm meu, and then a prime kimber metal body kit for it down the road. but my main concern of course is getting a gun, and then finally being able to buy the kit only to find out its not available. money is scarce at this time for me and i'm doing what i can to sell what i can. ya think it would be wise to save for the mbk first and then get the gun since those are mostly more often available? especially a TM. i just sold a WA that had a full metal slide and kinda regret it but kinda don't, only because i couldn't necessarily kind the lower for it. pforcerecon
ya the classic surefire i have is the one that goes through the slide stop. i do have a piece that Maveric sent me to help with this. now i noticed he's put his up for sale but right now the funds aren't working for me since if i had the money i'd buy his in a *fruitcage* hearbeat. but do have some pieces that he sent me that should be able to help with the slide stop issue. fal
Like I noted before, if you want kimber, WA might be easier option to start with. But since your funds are tight, you could gradualy build up with TM. Afterall, you can still build Kimber out of TM 1911 series. You just have to, uh..... replace almost (if not all) everything. Â I would most definitely recommand buying the kit first. These are always limited run and don't last long on the shelf. TM MEU will always be there, considering that you will buy it within couple of years from now on. Â If you want to build M.E.U you don't really need to change whole lot of parts out of TM MEU. Most of it is there. Probably a metal kit and ring hammer will do the trick. PDI just released black ring hammer for TM MEU series. It's not available for export yet though. You may won't even need to replace hammer though. Some of them I have seen personaly had ring hammer (late version) but some of the pics online they have delta hammer. So meh. Up to your taste I suppose. Edited September 16, 2008 by fal
pforcerecon
thanks fal, ima have to do that, save up and just get the mbk since the guns will always be there. plus with the kit at least i'll know which gun to get that will go best for it.  P.S  this is what i was looking at getting:  http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...007BK_cat_Slide And Frame For Marui  also, how easy is it to get a marui gun shooting roughly 300 or more? davedawg123
With the exception of their glock series and detonics, I think most TM gbb's do 300 out of the box, weather permitting of course. If not, a PDI 6.01mm inner barrel should be all that's necessary. Edited September 16, 2008 by davedawg123
fal
yup PDI 6.01 will give a decent boost in fps department. Â The kit you are interested in would also be my definite pick. Kimber swat custom is one of my favorite. Â I would buy the gun at the last. Buy the kit first, then buy controls then the gun at last. Of course if you don't mind having SA beavertail and ambi safety on Kimber pistol then you can go straight to the pistol after purchasing the kit but otherwise, better buy those aftermarket parts first before they run out. Mobius Strip
Bob Chow Custom 1.5: Prime Metal Kit Boomarms custom Bob Chow Steel Chamber  Very nice indeed.  It's great to see a Chow with the metal kit, and it's built from the rarer 1.5 too!  I couldn't make up my mind as to whether I wanted the Bob Chow kit and by the time I had decided I wanted one, they had sold out - D'oh! >_<, so I am very jealous indeed........and yet happy for you at the same time

The 1.0 I sold, but then realised I loved it too much and so went all out on the 1.5! (BTW Mobius, Boomarms still have the Prime kit in stock, if you fancy splurging!)  On the subject of Chow's, has anybody seen/own the silver or 2-tone version (Kim Chow and Gin Chow, I think?)? They also tell me that there are no plans (for Prime) to make any more due to "special tooling needs". I wish they would put "out of stock" on the website to stop me getting my hopes up  Those other GIN and KIM Chows from a couple of years ago were very limited edition, they only made 50 of each!
felix4536
hey RacingManiac whats your fps and range like?? im assuming you have a 6 or 7 inch innerbarrel in the compensator.?
RacingManiac
I think the comp is actually slightly shorter than 6 inch. PDI made that comp specifically for the kit such that you can't see the inner barrel in the exhaust port of the comp. Its an odd size. I don't have a chrony(I really should invest in one) so the only thing I got to go by is coke can and its a easy 2 side and it can crack the bottom... Â The grips I found on eBay....
