Charly Driver
wow che bella! What compensator is that and where did you get it? Can you give me a parts list ? Thanks and my compliments! It's based on a WA Kimber LAPD SWAT Custom II. The compensator, magazine, magazine button and some other silver parts come from a WA Wilson Super Grade. Black pearl girps with Pearce Rubber undergirp. Some interior parts have been replaced specially.

chris u'5
You like 1911s then Nick? I think I know the answer to that one already buddy I like the Detonics (I've never owned one but they intrigue me) and I really like the one touch adaptor on your Warrior, the grips look good as well. Good work dude!
RockDog
Thise grips are thanks to you fella. Thanks for that. Yeah I like the detonics to. Quirky little beast. Cant wait to get the guarder kit on it now.
chris u'5
My pleasure Nick Are the Detonics grips painted? They appear to be black or perhaps OD.
RockDog
They are black mate. Im not sure, not had them off yet. I bought it s/h so they may have been kryloned.
ChrisWPA
I just got a detonics myself. Cant wait untill it comes. I heard the gaurder kit is horrible. True? And if I get a metal slide do I have to use propane/greengas?
RockDog
Ive heard the electroplated frames are really good, not sure about the others though to be honest. maybe someone else could help.
ChrisWPA
Well if the black gaurder kit was good I would get it. But I heard gaurder kits arnt good, so I thought I would go with a shooters design slide. I cant afford full SD kit.
AnotherJesus
The guarder kited Detonics I had a fiddle with once worked fine. Wasn't the smoothest thing in the world to begin with. I'd say it's worth invest an hour polishing up the rails. It's all in the fitting. The finish picks up dirt fairly easily. Not a great texture in my opinion. Not horrible though. It's a fine bit of kit. Just not a drop in fit. Easier than the Nova kits no doubt. I love that first picture of the Kimber. Makes me want to splurge my bank balance onto a TM. Good work. ChrisWPA
Alright thanks. My plans are to find a used tm meu safety, or tm hi cappa safety, install that. SD silver slide (got the black detonics, I could go all black or 2 tone) late version. Wood grips eventually. Most likely I will make my own in shop.

FireKnife
Nice ones Rockdog. May try and get a deal going with a Chrome Detonics owner for the frame and grips from my (soon to arrive) black Detonics with the internals for the chrome equivalent so i can get a two tone Detonics with black slide / silver frame. average
I got myself a new Xmas gift. This is how I got it last night: But somehow it managed to turn into this overnight:
FireKnife
So you took the paint off it (illegal i believe) and changed the grips to those horrible creamy ones? Humm whatever floats your boat i guess. 'FireKnife'

WatZ
Being so vague by saying yes and no, you're both correct. Its required when in transportation, not in storage. That's the basic generalization of the law. Of course it could vary per state, county, town.. That would lead to a pretty large thread not pertaining to 1911s More pictures now? SamJacksonFan
How, you are one lucky ######, WatZ Very nice model … the gold seems a little bit blend though compared to the plated function parts. But who cares, anyway very impressive, even if the grips are a bit too much for my personal taste … but they definitely rock.
ChrisWPA
Would the grip on the "micro compact" below the detoncs fit the tm detonics? http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc120/m...20/CIMG1436.jpg Thats a real steel pic, but looks to me they are identical to the detonics. Spartan452
Btw does anyone actually know who has ^ this pistol? I sold it on arnies almost a year ago, but I really miss her. I use to have a WA Wilson Combat compact, which should be the same frame as the micro compact in that photo. From what I remember the grip was perfect for my hand size, but the detonics grip I have now is too small for me. So I'm guess the hogue grips won't work. but you could get some pachymars Edited January 1, 2009 by Spartan452
