PianoBlack
Here's some pictures that might be of use for those wanting to attach a rail to the bottom of your hand guard. The first picture is of a G&P KAC broom handle installed, while the second and third show the way it is attached. You can see the full length bottom rail attached on the left of the pictures, and that is what the little piece of rail is bolted onto. I hope this helps. -Piano
Fellowz
ill throw a spanner in the works. either like it or lump it! personally i LOVE it. sorry my battery in my camera died so i used my phone.
shmook
fellowz, i normally HATE that stock, but it works really well there. the AFG gives it a whole new look. i think the tan colour helps too though. all in all, lovely!
Fellowz
cheers dude, yeah the AFG made this project perfect. i got to sort out some form of illumination when the funds are available.
shmook
i just got an LED Lenser, check the flashlights' thread. awesome bit of kit
ERTrifleman
I've been hoping someone would post an AFG on a DMR stock, and I'm glad someone finally did. That's just beautiful.
WaterWar
That M14 sure looks nice. It's nice and simple with no unnecessary attachments. Nice and streamlined.
albertus fox
I'm thinking of buying a Star EBR (with m4 stock tube) as they are going cheap at the moment. Could I put my Mauri M14 internals in the Star body? It seems cheaper than buying a G&P kit. cheers Edited March 6, 2010 by albertus fox
Fellowz
im not sure how the star gearbox is shaped in relation to the TM's but i dont see how it couldnt fit as TM have released the first M14 AEG so im guessing other manufactures will base it around that design. as for my MK14 Proto, im glad people like it i was wondering what others would think of it, as its a very unique look for an M14 its a break from the norm seems most people go for the DMR look. this is just my take on a great alternative to rifles such as M16's G3's and FN FAL. i did put my 552 on the rail first but it looked way too big for it and this T1 clone with its high mount didnt suit my SR15 so i opted to put the T1 on this and i looks good
Fellowz
i got some tidy pictures now!
shmook
it gets better every time i see it
my_plague_666
i hate that stock usually but i'm rather liking that setup. the AFG really looks at home. i think black rails, possibly with tan/FDE ladder covers would look really good. possibly a contrasting butt pad and cheek rest too. Bando
the m14 looks nice but the sight seems too small to me
my_plague_666
the m14 looks nice but the sight seems too small to me if it was on a normal scope mount i'd agree. but larger sights on scout rails look stupid and unbalanced IMO. the T1 fits with the lines quite nicely. slu
if it was on a normal scope mount i'd agree. but larger sights on scout rails look stupid and unbalanced IMO. the T1 fits with the lines quite nicely. Just my opinion, but, for aesthetics, I think an EO553 would look better on that one.
my_plague_666
meh. horses for courses i guess. IMO an eotech or just about anything else would be too bulky, making the gun look overly front heavy. i think big sights like that mounted halfway along a gun's barrel makes it look like it's got a weird growth. then again lots of people seem to do this, maybe i'm the only one who doesnt like it
Touchette
I'm with you Plague. Large sights mounted on a scout rail are aesthetically displeasing. Functionally they may be useful, but I don't like the way they look. I'm actually not a fan of the way Eotech's look anyway.
