Gooberz
On the vanilla M14, I'm pretty sure there are threads - But it requires you to twist off the front sight. The Socom/Scout/Whatever has a threaded barrel, no need to remove the front sight. You can probably fit the battery in. The buttplate can be removed with a few screws, cram your batt in, and close it back up. Google it, perhaps. I remember seeing some reviews try to put different batteries in them. If that helps at all...
beta08
You will actually need to knock out some suports to fit the 9.6. On an unrelated note, do you guys ever feel like rubbish for how much you've spent on one gun? My TM Socom 16 has like, $700 into it and I am considering selling it and purchasing just a stock TM Socom 16 and leaving it that way. Any suggestions? Isamu
I wouldnt sell something I have spent so much, less if its an m14, I have spent more on the externals than in the internals of my cyma socom. This sunday I will see how much it has improved

SniperSidd
Would there be anyone out there with the small nut type thing that screws in place to hold the M14 full sized sight in place? I got a used M14 and there was not one included and right now I have my sight held on with electrical tape

The Crunchy Bunny
Here's my G&G I finally got back after 10 weeks in the shop to fix the stupid tappet plate. I think I'm going to upgrade it to more DMR esque performance. I'm also ditching the heavy *albatross* scope setup for a scout mount and either an Eotech 552 or a Aimpoint T-1 (which one?). I also can't decide whether I should paint just the stock, or keep it black?

ERTrifleman
@ ERTrifleman. GORGEOUS rifle! Your slings on backwards though. I didn't know there was a right or wrong, thanks for catching that. Fail on my part. Thanks for the complement as well.
The Crunchy Bunny
I hit my M14 with some Krylon today. Turned out decent I guess. It's gonna get a EoTech 552, G&P Scout Mount, and JP flashider soon. I'm tired of how back heavy the current optics setup is.
