Hey guys is the receiver on the AKM and AKMS the same as the 47 and 47/s. I want to get a oldschool 47 as nice as i can externally and my plan was to buy an Inokatsu AKM kit and put some real wood on it, is this legit. If not tell me which way to go.

Nah, AKM/AKMS use a stamped reciever while the AK47/AKS47 use a milled. You could do a Chinese type 56, I've seen some Type 56's without the spike bayonet. Basically an AK47 with a stamped reciever. You could try that out.

No the AKM has a stamped receiver while an AK-47 has a milled receiver. The difference is that an AK-47 has the indents on the side.

Lol inokatsu ak47 kit is gonna be impossible to find. I could settle for a Real Sword but ive heard horrible things about the FPS being around 160ish

I just really would prefer better than the Marui style of Ak47 externals with the visible screws and such.

Since I couldn't find the exact picture of the Type 56, I got the closest one to it.

looks like that but with the regular fixed stock. I would also recommened the Inokatsu Steel Reciever kit for TM, I had one on my TM AK and it was fantastic. I'd pair it with some nice real steel AK47 wood and I'd get a G&P metal front set, maybe a real steel AK rear sight, I'd have to say you should get a PDI or G&P metal barrel. You could keep and paint the TM front sight and gas block or if your game enough, buy real AK front sight and gas block and mount those on the barrel.

Hmmm, That picture of the AK47 seems to be a type III AK47.

EDIT:

Here's my old Ino TM AK kit.

Oh i see so with a stamped receiver it would be a Type 56.

Didn't Inokatsu's manufacturer come out of the woodwork recently(LCT?), are they going to be selling parts?

I'm assuming you read the review for the RS type-56 on ASR? If you read it carefully you'll realize that the retard fully engages the hop thus causing the huge drop in FPS <_< while it does shoot under 300 fps its very accurate. Look at the review here on arnie's it's much better.

But then the receiver would be wrong. If im going to invest that amount of money id like it to be correct

Wait, I'm confused. What are you trying to make? A Type 56, an AKM, AKMS, What?

Anyways, I gave AIM a little wear today.I think it turned out pretty decent. It's about 65% done. I just need to mod the stock, replace the front sight, dye the pistol grip and buy some mags for it.

Oh, then just get a G&P MBK, G&P Metal Front Set, Real Steel wood set (check Kvar for those) or a Guarder replica AK47 woodset and your good.

Onslaught, I have a real Romanian stock, I just haven't got off my *albatross* and modded it yet.

Yes, real romanian wood is best. Takes like a few minutes with the right tools.

I have experience with the G&P MBK and it's great. From what I've seen you can buy the G&P MBK & G&P front set together as combined package.
