Shroomalistic
just wandering which are the best websites to get RS wood for ak's? shipping to the UK http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-deact_furniture.htm
Azulsky
Hey guys is the receiver on the AKM and AKMS the same as the 47 and 47/s. I want to get a oldschool 47 as nice as i can externally and my plan was to buy an Inokatsu AKM kit and put some real wood on it, is this legit. If not tell me which way to go. Hoppum
Stamped AKM receivers are completely different to Milled AK-47 ones. Best way to go would be with an Inokatsu AK-47/AKS-47 kit, if you can find one. Edited May 15, 2008 by Hoppum
ComradeMP1
Nah, AKM/AKMS use a stamped reciever while the AK47/AKS47 use a milled. You could do a Chinese type 56, I've seen some Type 56's without the spike bayonet. Basically an AK47 with a stamped reciever. You could try that out.
The Crunchy Bunny
Are you talking about the design of the reciver and how it attaches, or externally looks wise. If it's the latter, no they are much different. Stamped(AKM) vs. Milled(AK47). I think they also attach different, but they will still be compatable.
socal_recon
No the AKM has a stamped receiver while an AK-47 has a milled receiver. The difference is that an AK-47 has the indents on the side. AK-47 AKM Darn too slow. I try to be helpful and provide pictures and I get beat out Edited May 15, 2008 by socal_recon
Azulsky
Lol inokatsu ak47 kit is gonna be impossible to find. I could settle for a Real Sword but ive heard horrible things about the FPS being around 160ish I just really would prefer better than the Marui style of Ak47 externals with the visible screws and such. The Crunchy Bunny
Just get the RMW AKM or AKMS kit kit for the Mauri AK47, and special order the front parts.
Azulsky
But then the receiver would be wrong. If im going to invest that amount of money id like it to be correct
ComradeMP1
Since I couldn't find the exact picture of the Type 56, I got the closest one to it. looks like that but with the regular fixed stock. I would also recommened the Inokatsu Steel Reciever kit for TM, I had one on my TM AK and it was fantastic. I'd pair it with some nice real steel AK47 wood and I'd get a G&P metal front set, maybe a real steel AK rear sight, I'd have to say you should get a PDI or G&P metal barrel. You could keep and paint the TM front sight and gas block or if your game enough, buy real AK front sight and gas block and mount those on the barrel. Hmmm, That picture of the AK47 seems to be a type III AK47. EDIT: Here's my old Ino TM AK kit. Please excuse the tactikoolness, this was a year before I pledged my alligence to mother Russia. just imagine AK47 wood on that, it would look sweeeet. More pics + Review. http://www.airsoftcore.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47 Edited May 15, 2008 by ComradeMP1
Azulsky
Oh i see so with a stamped receiver it would be a Type 56. Didn't Inokatsu's manufacturer come out of the woodwork recently(LCT?), are they going to be selling parts? Edited May 15, 2008 by Azulsky
ComradeMP1
I have heard that, but I don't know when they will have these parts out or if they already do. If some one know, please let us know.

I'm assuming you read the review for the RS type-56 on ASR? If you read it carefully you'll realize that the retard fully engages the hop thus causing the huge drop in FPS while it does shoot under 300 fps its very accurate. Look at the review here on arnie's it's much better. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...&hl=type+56 Edited May 15, 2008 by socal_recon
Moody
And don't forget about the gas block. But I think that's the one thing that most AK connisouers (or however you spell it) forgo. They can't make everything to exact specs (unfortunately)
The Crunchy Bunny
But then the receiver would be wrong. If im going to invest that amount of money id like it to be correct Wait, I'm confused. What are you trying to make? A Type 56, an AKM, AKMS, What? Anyways, I gave AIM a little wear today.I think it turned out pretty decent. It's about 65% done. I just need to mod the stock, replace the front sight, dye the pistol grip and buy some mags for it.
Bronco5150
Lookin' good, but like you said, the stock has to go.

Azulsky
I would prefer a AK47, but the type 56 would be a failsafe
The Crunchy Bunny
Oh, then just get a G&P MBK, G&P Metal Front Set, Real Steel wood set (check Kvar for those) or a Guarder replica AK47 woodset and your good. Onslaught, I have a real Romanian stock, I just haven't got off my *albatross* and modded it yet. Edited May 16, 2008 by The Crunchy Bunny

ComradeMP1
Yes, real romanian wood is best. Takes like a few minutes with the right tools. I have experience with the G&P MBK and it's great. From what I've seen you can buy the G&P MBK & G&P front set together as combined package.
Shroomalistic
ya man, i say try and find a real steel stock and get workin on your work bench do they ship to the US?
