BigAl
Would love a snow gun and load out but would probably never use it as I travel by bike, so if it snows I stay in bed! Chas - nice work on both guns, what is the lighter green used on the Ak, is it out of a rattle can? I have OD but need a lighter green for an MC is paint job.

RedRob
Yes, but as I only used thin coats it's already showing a bit of wear and tear after a 7 hour Milsim last Sunday....
Keinonen1000
This is my KJW M700 that has been my little project for a year. From original I first upgraded it with better hop up and barrel. After that tapped to CO2 using Tanaka Long mag. Co2 and Gas wasn't very good choices but now I'm using HPA and getting chronoing results that varies +-1m/s when gun is shooting 150-160m/s. 160-170m/s variation is around 3m/s. Here is link to proof this. And of course my gun is painted using Krylon OD, Light green and dark brown by tapping colors with sponge. sideshow Bob
How do you resist the temptation to add more coats? I think I'm largely there with a hexane type paint job but there are places that don't look great. Do I risk undoing my good work by applying another coat all over or put up with it? RedRob
Personally, it depends what the aim is. For my L119A1-esque that I posted above, I want it to look a bit used, so I only used thin coats and started handling it almost straight away. If the aim is for a new look, then I'll strip it down to the basics, or at least do a "proper" masking job. It will then be painted properly, starting with a sand/strip, then prime, followed by 2 or 3 coats applied according to the paint manufacturer's recommendations. Ultimately, it depends what kind of finish you are after, and how OCD you get about it....
Vortix
I don't like my guns to look like museum pieces - they are meant to be used. Mind you, I don't like the look of 'weathered' paint jobs either. In my perfect world I would be able to handle my rifles every day under harsh conditions so they actually would look and be used. Until that day comes, I'll be happy to apply relatively thin coats of paint that show wear and tear after a year or so of regular skirmishing.
emergencychimp
My TM recoil in a MK18 esque blaster with a drop in paint job and dusting on the rail, upper and suppressor which has also had a burnt affect.
