hitmanNo2
Is a Guarder frame still the best for a G17 project? I was waiting for a GM one but it seems that's not in the pipeline right now.
NonEx
The lines around the grip panel do bother me a little bit as well, but I take comfort in knowing that they exist on some real world Glocks too Just would have preferred if they used a clean frame as reference. Yeah I've seen those posters on Guarders FB timeline Yeah, I will send them a message and let them know about the pin and the screws! EDIT: Commented on their 3 posted pictures and PMed them as well. Age old debate regarding the frame. I personally prefer the HK3P frames over Guarder but Guarders are not bad per say. Edited February 12, 2017 by NonEx
Dj_komodo
Did PM them as well Lets see what happens... As for the frame, Im with NonEx with the HK3P frame (gen 4) and a bit of modification. But Guarder has the advantage with the reinforced front post and the fake locking block pin. Wingman
While I've nowhere near the talent as others in this forum, I'be been slowly sourcing parts to do up two of my stock KJW g23. I've only to find 2 Guarder G23 or G19 slides (have barrels for either model just in case) and 2 Guarder frames. My only worry is that they'll be confiscated due to the trades. Just got 2 sets of the UAC Day & Night Sights. Put a set on one of the stock G23's and they work terrific and dont look half bad. Cant wait to see the end results of your project NonEx. mightyjebus
My continually evolving ARMY Glock 17. It's turning in to a bit of a beast. Currenty hitting 340 FPS with Guarder Black gas in WE magazines.
hitmanNo2
Regular WE mags or the lightweight ones?
mightyjebus
Just the regular ones.
hitmanNo2
Do you find black gas a big improvement over green?
mightyjebus
I've found that some gas guns (pistols and rifles) can't fire when the magazine has Black gas as the hammer spring is too weak. If you use Black gas then you need to consider upgrading the hammer spring. Black gas is good for the winter and probably too high a FPS in the summer (and because of the expansion it can destroy your gas gun). hitmanNo2
Cool. I might give it a try. I was looking for something with a bit more oomf for a steel Glock.
NonEx
Yeh the Guarder Power Up black canister gas will give you some oomph 220 PSI vs 130 PSI of regular Green Gas. Made my WE AK74UN with RA steel internals a lot of fun to shoot But like he said, you need to have a hammer spring strong enough to push the valve in.
Wingman
Quicksilver..loving the Taran Tactical G34. Where did you find the slide?
Squad 701
Quicksilver..loving the Taran Tactical G34. Where did you find the slide? They were basically sold out the day before the CNY, so only a few online shops had the G17 version still left in stock... A new batch is planned for the near-future though
mightyjebus
Tried my hand at stippling an old KJW frame. Looks ok I think.
mightyjebus
Didn't like the stippling so I went for a tan based G23. Here it is along with the other 19/23/32 sized frames I have. (top right needs engraving if I can find someone to engrave it)
NonEx
Oh how I wish for a Guarder Glock 19 GEN4 MOS kit to be released (in ref. to the bottom two Glocks in the pic above...) Edited February 16, 2017 by NonEx
mightyjebus
agreed. I have a spare plastic slide here which I might chop up to see how it would work. Probably need to screw the RMR to the BDU as there would be nothing left of the top of the slide. Edit - just chopped a plastic slide up. Looks like it can be done. Edited February 16, 2017 by mightyjebus
mightyjebus
Here's a mock up. I think you could take a Guarder slide and have it milled and then have the cap CNC'd to achieve the look.
NonEx
Well yeah fitting an RMR to a Glock is can obviously be done. What I meant was I want a fully authentic Glock 19 GEN4 MOS airsoft replica Preferably as a parts kit like Guarder have released all the parts to build whatever Glock model you want. Roland1014
Does anyone have a steel Guarder kit 17 or 34? How is it?
LJ.NL
Does anyone have a steel Guarder kit 17 or 34? How is it? It's nice: Performance is good but in cold weather it gets a bit sluggish. I didn't upgrade the internals so the performance could be better if you try
NonEx
I just built a steel Guarder 19 and testfired it this weekend with Guarder Power Up Gas (220 PSI). Definately snappy and working well, got at least 20 shots out of it full power and then I stopped because it was really loud (in my appartment ) but dumping the mag there was a lot of gas left so it should be just fine. Guess a 17 or 34 adds some weight due to the longer slides but should still work. Everything just worked and fit together out of the box. Except the extractor which I had to modify and epoxy in place I was a bit worried it would be too heavy and sluggish but I think it will work fine, at least if it's like 15+C and you use Guarder PUG. Since my entire build is steel I have no worries about durability with that gas. Edited March 1, 2017 by NonEx
