Ace of Spades
Aw yeeeeee, my old stuff looks pretty pimping. I'm going to have to get around and take some pics of the stuff I got from you. If anybody is interested, I can always take some pics of all the Cadpat stuff I have been issued... all like 150 lbs worth of it.
navymp28
Would love to see pics of the kit you have been issued. I think all I really need to get for my loadout is a Helmet cover, Scrim net, Issued TV, a Cadpat Baclava, and try to source some CADPAT MOLLE 7.62 pouches. I need to decide on the type of Arid BDU's to get too. Can anyone recommend a good set? Also a good CADPAT pack of some sort? Do they make CADPAT flyers kit bags? I am thinking of keeping all my kits in specific "GO" bags for games to keep them out of the way and easier to store. A CADPAT flyers bag would be great for that. Lerch
Check out CPGear, they've got modular bandoliers that you could toss together for a go-kit. Same for the packs, I've got one of their nuke bags right now, and had an assault pack before. Good *suitcase* all around, and the OPS pack is the dogs As for issued kit, I'm still waiting to go through supply again, but I'm hoping to atleast get back a rucksack and TV (raingear is on a 12 month ETA...). Perhaps a shot of my Warlord when I unpack it.
Lerch
The rig I just got on my recent trip home. HSGI Warlord V4 Bravo HSGI Nalgene Pouch 2x CPGear C9 200rnd Pouch 3x CPGear 3/2 Magazine Pouch 2x CPGear Smoke Pouch CPGear Grenade Pouch CPGear Maglite Pouch 2x3 IR Flag Nametape I've also got a hydro carrier for it, and a large dump pouch. And then some new gloves
The Crunchy Bunny
Sweet rig. Your utility pouch looks like it's crammed in between those pouches, rendering it unusable.
Lerch
Once I fill it up it'll be nice and tight, but it's gonna spread out a bit when I put it on too (round body as opposed to lying flat).
TheFinn
Great... Now I want some Canadian kit. Seems like every country is switching to the digi-camo. Even Finland has, although the current camo is not available to the public... Anyway, where are some good CADPAT suppliers? (links)
TheFinn
Also, can one of you Canadians tell me what the current vest / rigging for the army is? Is it a MOLLE-type thing or something else? And from this page, would item 437 work for a CADPAT kit? http://personal.inet.fi/yritys/vm-arms/CAD-EC-MULTI.html Edited September 9, 2008 by TheFinn
Lerch
Go back one page and you'll see my post of my old vest from basic, same thing is issued to all CF on combat operations. Regards of item 437, use whatever you like if you're on a budget, but after seeing some of that *suitcase* firsthand I'd stay away if you can afford better. The quality is a pissoff. Go to the top of this page for websites to get GOOD kit from
navymp28
I threw my CADPAT pouches on a Smoke Green RAV...kind of a JTF-2 esque look.
TheFinn
Can someone give me the pocket specs (how many, what for, etc.) for the CADPAT tac-vest (the sort of mesh one that doesn't look like Molle)? Also, any ideas on where to get Tactical Tailor CADPAT stuff? I have already looked in the DS Tactical website.
Lerch
DS Tactical is the only place I've ever seen TT in CADPAT, but you can find it on eBay now and then (search CADPAT and use the buy-it-now page). For the TV though; top four pouches hold a single magazine each (with a pen and torch pouch on the inside two). Below those are two small utility pouches (we used ours to carry FFD on one side and gloves on the other). On the left and right side are a combination of a C9 and water bottle pouch, both having smoke grenade pouches attached to the front face. Inside left side is a velcroed map pocket aswell. One thing I had extra for my tacvest is the Berry pouch that CPGear sells, tucked inbetween my C9 pouch and the vest. It held my cleaning kit, waterproof notepad and extra magazine. TheFinn
Thanks. I've seen pictures of it, but it all blends so well I can't really notice any of the separate pouches.
Abelius
Hi there. Been looking at CADPAT with dirty things in my mind for some time now, and since it's pretty well available for a decent price now, I'm going to go for it. There's one thing that bugs me though. Don't you Canadians need sizes that fit long people?! I mean, almost every army has clothing sizes that suit everyone, but you just have from S to X+nL. Okay, to most people the clothes would fit perfectly. From here we get to my question: My size is Medium Long (190cm long, 90cm chest). What Canadian size is the nearest to me, without being too loose or too short. Thanks.
Lerch
Hmm, let's see...I'm 6'7" and I was issued with 7640 shirt and 7638 trousers. 76 being the length and 40/38 being the chest/waist size. They are available, they just might not be as cheap as you'd hoped
Abelius
Ahh, guess Frontenac (sp?) is an export manufacturer with different size charts then.
Lerch
They use the rejected material, and use a civvy sizing chart... Betcha can't tell me what this is
Grim
its a very hairy tortoise lol. Grim
navymp28
From a game a few days ago...went with a JTF-2 look for my rig. It is Smoke Green PARACLETE RAV. Edited September 18, 2008 by navymp28

DarkLite
Your stance and grip are utterly FUBAR. Nice rifle though.

UMGuy
Can someone give me the pocket specs (how many, what for, etc.) for the CADPAT tac-vest (the sort of mesh one that doesn't look like Molle)? Also, any ideas on where to get Tactical Tailor CADPAT stuff? I have already looked in the DS Tactical website. Send them an email. The guys at TT are really cool and will more than willing to make the items you want in CADPAT for you. Their site is http://www.tacticaltailor.com/ Edited September 23, 2008 by UMGuy
TheFinn
Can anyone tell me if the CF tact vest has any molle on the back (same vest as in top row here: http://www.armyissue.com/Gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6)? I cannot see from the picture if it does or not. If it doesn't, how easy might it be to attach a hydration pack to the back?
Lerch
Nope, no MOLLE on the back. The closest would be the bayonet strip on the chest that attach the frog via MOLLE. On the back and sides though you can find daisy chain attachment (a *fruitcage* useless system but one that CTS won't give up on). Only real use is attaching side pouches off the small pack/rucksack. Ok a side note, since I started my SQ, I've gotten the new body armour, bayonet, C7A2, and some relatively recent C9A1's. Still waiting on raingear though, 12 month ETA on that, but next time I go to the QM I'll be getting a new gas mask carrier. When I get my laptop back next week I'll toss pictures up for you guys. Maybe some C6 porn too.
