sekiryu Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 A friend of mine has given me his old TM MP5SD6, but I'm not a big fan of the SD series, personally. I compared the exploded diagrams of the SD6 and A5, and noticed that the cocking tube, cocking piece, and front sight assembly were different. So would it be possible to remove the whole front end of the SD6 (leaving only the receiver), and attaching an aftermarket A5 metal body kit and foregrip, etc., to convert it into an A5 model? Stealthbomber Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Yep. As you've said, you need a cocking tube, a foregrip, a front sight and a flash-hider. IIRC, you might also need to source a couple of tiny grub-screws for securing the various bits together but that shouldn't be a big deal. It's an easy conversion. Link to post Share on other sites

The cocking tube is different and will need replacing. You'll need to remove the shuttle and cocking handle from the tube and swap it across to the new one. AFAIK, the shuttle and handle are the same on all MP5s. Link to post Share on other sites
