Hero Arms G36 KAC Drum

I have a Hero Arms G36 KAC Drum which has never really worked to my satisfaction. The pressure switch winds the internals, but it still feeds poorly. I hit upon the idea of swapping the main winding spring with one from a regular manual wind highcapacity magazine. The hope is that the highcap spring will have more power. Its worth a try anyway. The issue is I can't seem to be able to remove the internals to have access to the spring. It would appear that the mechanism is either sonic welded or glued in place.

 

Has anyone been able to successfully remove the internals? If so, please advise as to how you did it.
