I love the new receiver, it's PERFECT, all the little mistakes from the aluminum version are gone. Way better than ICS, better than G&G (at least metal-wise - no more pot metal and breaking stock tangs...) I don't like the wood, though... what were they thinking? It looks nothing like the "real steel" wood - the protrusions on the sides of the foregrip should be smooth and rounded, and the "wood" should be, basically, plywood. It's the plywood layers that create the unmistakable, beautiful patterns on AK furniture. Solid wood was dumped back in late fifties, when "gen 3" AK-47 was discontinued... solid wood it just doesn't match an AK-74.
