New western arms m4 cqb

Well...

I currently use a Maruzen MP5K (with a modded and sturdy UMP-style MP5 stock and red dot scope) as my primary. I usually carry three 50 round mags and one 30 round. Backup is a KJ M1911 GBB or TM Glock 17. With some control I can keep myself quite long in the game with the MP5K. Rarely I have used all the mags empty in one game. The MP5K I own is reinforced to use green gas and chronoes around 95m/s with .20 BBs and full mag (before cool down). The RoF is insane. Accuracy with the precision barrel is also pretty nice. Not a sharpshooter's tool, but it's not even meant to be like that. I love the sound and the fun of shooting it. I just hate hicap "spray and pray" gaming. And the whine of electric guns and the slow trigger response just itches my nerves.

So I have been eagerly waiting for this WA M4 baby to be released. Too bad I really don't have the money just now... (ARGH).

And as I replied in the other thread, I don't mind the polymer frame, as long as it's sturdy and durable (more than pot metal). Only thing I'd change is to convert it to full-lenght M4A1 with precision barrel. I suppose the range and accuracy would improve quite a bit with those.

But the looks is the main reason I'd want the full-lenght version. ACOG on top and M203 below. Like this.

I'll wait till there's a video of someone firing all 50 rounds in one burst, reloading and firing off some more mags in one bursts - extreme torture test if you will ;) If it can do that without any issues then that'll have me convinced.

Yeah...yeah, I'm gonna do a quick 180 on this!! I had a better look at the rifle, and its stats...it DOES look interesting, and very tempting....and of course, theres the novelty factor.

This may be a great Milsim rifle, and certainly it'll put the sewing machines to shame in the audio department.

I might have to get one of these.....maybe sell my King Arms Troy to fund this.....choices choices!!

Even the manual recommends to shoot short bursts, because of cooldown. Not that it would really damage the weapon, but I think it's rather an advice to keep the rate of fire and velocity decent.

If the magazine can manage a 30 round continuous burst with propane, that would be quite decent already. The bolt is very heavy.

Pretty nifty.

How was the muzzle energy stability on full-auto? Firing semi-auto shots through the chrono showed consistency, but how did it do on full-auto bursts?

How are the mags to reload? Spring lock feature or perhaps spring slot hole like TM GBB mags to be able to pour BBs in instead of fight the follower?

Any thought on the ruggedness of the magazine? From pictures, there are the feed lips which look the same as GBB pistol mags.....which deform and crack if abused at all and God forbid are dropped.........what is your take on those M4 mags?

Hop-up consistency and sensitivity? Uses a pistol-type hop rubber, proprietary, or AEG style?

I just saw the vid today and man, I am impressed with the blowback. The video dosnt do the sound justice it seems and if I had the chance, I would love to hear it in person. Sale, if I may ask, how loud is the report? Simular to just a gbb pistol, or more?

As the WA pistol mags already cost up to 50-60 USD depending on the model, I wouldn't expect these mags to be cheap. The build seems sturdy, but I'd rather reload with retention or using the tactical method. Dropping them could damage the floor, and with time the mags could be damaged as well. They weigh as much as a real mag loaded, but the real ones I only drop if they are empty. There's no slot to reveal the BBs or pull the follower down, and you load the mags with a loading rod or loading tool.

The magazine itself has a lever to enable or disable the bolt hold open -feature.

AustinWolv, there definitely is cooldown with extended bursts, and it will surely affect the consistency of the velocity. Us two knowing how long bursts you can shoot with an SP and an external rig, it is something that we will miss from this one. It's a trade-off for not having a remote hose connected to the weapon.

RWAS, thanks for the video, it's looking good! The recoil doesn't look hard on the video, but you can definitely feel it when you hold it. The recoil is very similar to the Sun Project M16 and Youth Engineering (Escort) MP5, which I own. You can see the chrono jumping forward because of the bolt carrier movement. :)

Kai Wolf, the report is very loud for an airsoft gun, and with the bolt carrier moving right below your cheek bone it also smacks your face a bit every time you shoot. I have a real semiauto M4 and I have to say the "shock" is pretty darn close. Obviously it doesn't push back like the real thing, because blowback only shakes the weapon back and forth.

Here's a pic of me shooting this lovely piece at HKSDU. G&P grip, KA rail panels and an EOTech 512 installed:

Wow, I dont like M4s, but this is freaking cool. The price of the gun and mags is insane though.

The only thing I am worried about is the range, some WA guns do not have the range that TM GBB do. This may be why they released a CQB, and not M4a1.

My interest is on hold until I hear it at least shoot 120 ft or someone uses the gun successfully in a woodland game.

Yeah, 75 really isnt as bad as it could be but still, its up there.

All things taken into consideration, its not THAT bad although im sure we all wish it was lower.

Having said that, the video looks stupidly impressive, the report, the recoil and the way the gun looks is fantastic.

Sale, are there any creaks on the gun associated with the plastic parts? Since its fibre reinforced i would assume probably not. Also, are the magazines higher capacity or only 30 rounds a piece?

Last but not least, besides the awesome EXPERIENCE that you get when firing the rifle, how does it perform? Ive read on some other boards that its not very consistent.

I think the video makes the recoil look a little bit milder than it feels. It does feel different to the shoulder than what it looks like when someone else shoots it. The WA M4 was passed around Wednesday night at HKSDU, and while people were already going "WHAAA!" from hearing the sound, shooting the first shot personally always made the shooter stop and grin. :D

Magsz, I tried to squeeze the magazine well a bit, but it is much more stiff than an AEG plastic receiver. There are no creaks. The mag capacity is 50.

I can't say I have much experience from shooting a bit, but the performance on semi seems consistent and ARMS magazine had achieved quite decent groupings from 20 meters. I don't think anyone outside of Japan has enough experience with this thing yet, but let's see how this unfolds.

NOOOOooooOOOOOooooo.....for the love of airsoft, please don't compare this to a Systema :P

I've just got a price quote for the UK from a HK retailer...coming in at $635....if the tax man hits me with his rythm stick, I can see this toppping $800 easy.....this is still relatively cheap, as I can see this being £600 in the UK....I'll bt you!

Indeed, I don't imagine many users would go long burst crazy with it but it's be nice so see just how it's behaviour faired under such extreme circumstances.

Is the recoil anything like a SP M16?

IIRC, the price was $417 (maybe dyslexic from all the excitement) when this was first posed. I'll say it again... DAMN IT!

I'd love to see the a range/grouping report. Looks awesome.

Wow, really! Wth, I was looking on RWAS last night too....when was it posted on RWAS?....2 in the morning EST? Isn't that just the suck. :(
