You might have a BB stuck in the barrel, try using the unjamming rod, and maybe clean the barrel afterwards.

Also, try firing it upside down without the mag inserted. Look down into the hopup chamber and see if there's a black thing (the nozzle) moving back and forth, if it isn't, then you have a busted tappet plate.

I can't see that there should be any BB's stuck in the barrel because it is firing.. But the gun isn't firing consistantly..

1. Inserting fully loaded mag.

2. Firing around 30 rounds (Some goes straight ahead, some goes too low, some goes to the right, some having very high speed.. The gun lacks accuracy too.. :S)

3. click click click..

4. pressing mag. release and removing mag.

5. 4-6 BBs falling down from the mag chamber.. (clogging between the top of the mag. well and the mag itself.)

6. shaking the gun

7. inserting mag. again

8. click click..

9. removing mag again, BBs coming down from the mag. chamber

10. inserting mag.

11. click click..

12. Removing mag. no BBs falling

13. inserting mag.

14. click click

15. rewinding mag.

16. Firing around 30 rounds (Some goes straight ahead, some goes too low, some goes to the right, some having very high speed.. The gun lacks accuracy.. :S)

17. click click.. and repeating pros.

??WTF??

Read comment above. If I had a busted tapped plate I asume the gun wouldn't be firing at all?

What could the problem(s) be?

- Really bad shim job?

- something busted? (fault hop-up rubber?) Like Unit 318 stated?

- Battery having problems operating the gun? (8,4v - 1500Amh - Chinese..)

- Other??

Does anyone know how to remove the buffer tube? I need to replace the sling attachment with another.

Also, I took the stock off, the battery version, and when I put it back on, it won't stay on.

And finally, does anyone know why the entire gun wobbles?

Ok Ceogz høres ut som du har fått en mandags morgen rifle :D

I got the same rifle and mine fires straight as a laser beam out to 50-60meter beafore the BB start to deviate.

sounds like you should try to open the AEG and check the barrel and hop-up unit for defects

if you dont know how to do this, just ask

Oh and Unit 318

there is a srew inside the buffer tube, it may be hard to see because of the battery cable but just shine some light down the tube, and you will see it clearly (as it is fairly big )

got my AGM hk416 with crane stock this week. just in time for this weekends ops. Got some 9.6 batteries for it aswell.

First impression...this gun rock. Solid finish, no wobble in the metal parts, abit of movement in the stock, but compared to real guns i have been issued and tested this was nothing really. The buttcap on the crane stock is abit loose and me manageing to actually break one of the wings that secures it did not help :) (with a 9.6 battery in the crane stock this isn't much of a problem, because the the battery presses against the cap to secure it.) Some strips or electric tape will fix it better i guess.....:(

Got some help from a friend with a M4 to show me around the gun (this helped alot, because you can forget about any kind of manual)

Got my bungy plate on secure and it works well with no wobble.

Loaded up some highcaps with .25 bb's and tried it out. shoots about 125 mps (420ish fps) with the stock 8.4 battery. No misfire or any kind of problems thats been discribed earlier in this thread. With the 9.6 battery it turned into a bb spraying monster. with the 8.4 battery it was easy to shot 2-3 shot bursts, but with the 9.6 you had fired of 5-6 in no time.

Will do some more testing this weekend and get back here with any feedback.

Also, mine just lost semi auto! Semi now became Full.

It now goes "safe -> full -> full". I need to fix the wiring.

No wiring can cause that. Your cutoff-lever is either jamming (once I had a G&P M4 that's lower receiver needed filing cause it jammed my CA boxes selector) or not moving at all. If you have dismantled the gun, the spring between the selector plate and cutoff-lever on the left side of the mechbox (outside the box..) has probably popped out. I hope you can find it, it is really tiny :P Or the lever could have just snapped or worn out.

I'm still loving the gun (AGM HK416). Just bought two Intellect 9,6V 1400mAh NiMH-batteries (fits well in the AN/PEQ, which is really not 1:1 with real ones. I put some paper stuffing to the back so it won't clank all the time). The firing sound is SWEET. Nothing like my Maruis whining, this gun bangs :) And the gun still shoots straight. Cleaned out the barrel with silicone spray. First wetted a cloth with silicone spray, then cleaned the barrel with a dry cloth. Daaamn. That was a lot of dirt. Shoots 1,44J nowadays. Sweet.

And the inner barrel is 300mm (still haven't disassembled except taken the RIS off, so can only tell "-ish" measurement). Not 364mm like ordinary M4. There is an optional part (comes with the gun) for the barrel that gives 12cm more length so you can fit a longer inner barrel, but I'm a small guy so there's no need for that since this gun is pretty accurate even without a precision barrel :)

Someone asked bout me comparing the AGM HK416 to other Colt carbines. Well, what can I say? Sure, you can tune a Marui box to shoot with a M120-spring and put it in a metal receiver and lower, or buy the JG (everybody says JG HK416 == AGM 416, but AGM has metal. Who has proof?) one. All I've heard about it that the plastic on it sucks, but the mechbox is strong. And all this is still forumtalk and not to be trusted. I only know that my AGM is sweeeeeeet :)

Sorry if I get a little carried away with the sweet.

And I've never heard of the reversed polarity problem someone in this thread had o.O Mine was just fine.

I'm using Q-bullets..

I have no idea what those are, but if you can see a seam on the bullet, it's faulty. Do not shoot those and use only perfectly round ones. Besides faulty bullets, I can't fathom what could cause the curve. Really bad dirt in the barrel or something like that? The bullets curve because they touch something on their way out.

Bad range on the other hand could be because of air leakage in the piston or hop-up. Or just bad dirt in the barrel :)

EDIT: Ach, just re-read the issues you're having. Not firing any bb's is a real issue :) I'd open the gun, check hopup for dislocated rubber and the nozzle, if it's defected or broken.

Or by "click-click" did you mean the gun doesn't make a sound whatsoever? That's an electrical problem. I'd check the connectors and wires. Oh, and the selector plate. If the shaking helps, the problem is probably somewhere in the connectors or the selector area, because something is obviously moving when you shake it..

Bb's falling down from the magwell after removing the mag is normal. Almost every gun does that, unless you shoot upside down for the last 4-5 bb's.

Hey.

I have justed ordered the crane stock version.

Can you guys tell me what kind of magazines thats compatible with this gun? Does it take normal M4 mags? I was looking at the King Arms 300Rd hi cap, will those work?

I was also wondering if i can fit this battery in the crane stock: http://www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=7621

Hope you can help.

Thanks.

Hmh, i dont have a serial number :o

I suppose that means I have an early product? Or have they stopped making serial numbers at some point? Dunno :P Only the AGM technicians know for sure...

That is so odd... And also, I just checked, and my "Trademarks" are etched into the body of the gun... So I cannot remove them.

EDIT: And has anyone else noticed that the metal and plastic has some blemishes? Like tiny tiny tiny holes or cracks where the molds didn't fill out?

I'll show my rifle later today. :3

I got one of those, but only in the reartube. And it's not a structural problem to the gun tho. Included the pic.

I'd take a wild guess that my gun is an early product then. When i bought it, it was the same price with the plastic JG HK416. I noticed a price increase few weeks later, so they've probably made those changes and you can see it in the price :P Manufacturer puts more money into making it, retailers raise prices to cover their gross margin. That's the way I figure it.

I'm taking it apart one of these days, prolly next week though. Taking it apart to see what makes it tick (metal 7mm and 6mm bushings + MOSFET waiting to be installed). My old M100 G&P/Marui M4A1 can't compete with this thing :> Keeping that for CQC (we have 1J limit in CQC).
