Feindflug
Hi guys, does anyone know how to transfer the old JG sizes into the 'modern' ones? With DPCU I usually have a 85L or 90L trouser (depending on the maufacturer). What would this size be for a JG trouser? This is the only item I still miss for my loadout, so I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance Jens

sandstorm
Nice weapon boards, but... I recall reading (in British SAS history book) that due to ASAS experiences, shotguns were one of the favorites for jungles in Far East? So, which shotguns would those have been? Ithaca M37's? Winchester trench guns?

sandstorm
Except Brits weren't in Vietnam, the Australians were. But I have to admit I'm surprised they'd use semi-automatic shotguns in jungle conditions, with pump you have much more reliability.

But I have to admit I'm surprised they'd use semi-automatic shotguns in jungle conditions, with pump you have much more reliability. I never said they were. It looked to me like your question was about the Australians using shotguns based on the British experience in Malaya and Borneo which, as I said, involved semi-automatic Brownings. The Kiwi's were using 58ptn untill they found it fell to pieces with a few weeks in the bush, then they swapped it to Aussy M56. Gliderrider
I occasionaly do an Aussie Vietnam loadout when called on for themed games- it's very similair to the African merc look. If anyone does know about the OG's, that would be very handy- I'm fairly sure there was a commonwealth Jungle set from the 50's/60's, but I don't know what they're called. Again, the Af. mercs wore them back in the day. -matt www.firebasenam.com OG's are very similar, Aussy is slightly heavyer than current lightweights as worn by cadets, and the waist adjuster is a button rather than a ratchet, and a map pocket on each leg not just the left one. Overall I'd say you can get away with it. Not sure you could do the shirt though, unless you modify an OG BDU Where can you buy that scrim netting? Any UK army surplus or airsoft store have it.
