The Late Great Isamu
crye woodland woot! hehe  Are these things custom made or actually from Crye?
PlasticMag
They're custom made, modified BDU pants.
Unit 318
Methinks you should spray those pads black, to keep with M81 style.

m@tt-4576
Seen as how we're on the classic gear.  Updated a couple things since last time. Would look better with black boots but whatever.  Tears of the sun style  Edited June 10, 2009 by m@tt-4576
bodis
Might I be so rude as to ask for a kit list m@tt-4576 ? Â Edit: Forgot to mention just how good your gear looks, comes across as so much more realistic and 'proper' than many of the modern US Special Forces whatnot kits I've seen used in airsoft. They tend to have a 'plastic' feeling about them, yours do not, great job! Edited June 10, 2009 by bodis
Lerch
Hmm...fray the bush hat and swap the yoke for an LBV for the Tears kit  Bonny good though!
m@tt-4576
Thanks, By yoke you mean my suspender set up? That's what they used in the movie. At least Bruce Willis' character. How would I go about fraying it?  It probably looks proper cuz it's mostly issue gear, with a setup stolen from a movie with real seals as advisers. Anyway, Grunt kitlist: M81 Cold weather BDUs, modified sleeve pockets. Green tee shirt Marine core issue socks USMC Hot weather Bates boots Cheapo Chinese PASGT helmet Chinese M81 helmet cover + graffiti G&P Sand Wind and Dust goggles. USGI cats eye helmet band PASGT flak vest USGI Y suspenders USGI Pistol belt USGI compass/First aid pouch 2x USGI triple .556 magazine pouches with grenade loops. Woodland improved canteen/misc pouch 2x USGI canteen pouches + canteens Black hawk improved buttpack Tru Spec pistol holster Ka bar replica  JG M-16A3 Army 1911 MEU 7x midcap magazines.  For Tears kit -PASGT helmet and Flak. -Bates boots -M16A3 -Y suspenders Tru Spec trimmed woodland boonie M4A1 (Chinese) Black hawk style H suspenders Black Belleville ICBs  Here's a link to the guide I used to get it together. http://utahairsoft.com/forum/index.php?sho...amp;#entry52922 Only several slight changes as you can see. Azulsky
For fraying boonies, just figure out how long you want the brim to be and cut right outside the closest stitching circle. Instead of putting the edging back on let nature beat it up
zarda999
I just cut mine with the serrated part of my emerson. Â Â -Ryan
masakarijoe
i never cut boonies. if you get real ones in the right size, they shouldne be too large or anything. and yours looks fine. i wouldnt change a thing for either loadout. maybe i would add an old school parade sling to that M16A2. thats it though. excellent work, im impressed. -Joe Edited June 11, 2009 by masakarijoe
m@tt-4576
Yeah, I like em both pretty well. I just wish I had a flak that fit better, and some black jungle boots.
PlasticMag
i never cut boonies. if you get real ones in the right size, they shouldne be too large or anything. Â It's not a huge deal, but cutting mine down helped with fogging and visibility, as well as comfort with goggles. Â
the roob
matts boonie already looks cut. just put it in you trousers pocket before you throw them in the wash and the neat trim line will fray up a bit.
Grantfallen
You're loadout's are looking good. The only thing I would say is that, it might be the lighting in the room, but your BDU's look pretty dark and new, I'd mess them up a bit if I was you, get them in the washing machine with some stones to soften them up a bit, but apart from that it looks good to me. Â It makes me really, really regret selling my SDS LBV and Alice pouches. I've now got a similar set up with a woodland FLC that is lightweight and good for those summer days, It can be worn ontop of my interceptor to bulk it out if need be. Typical, the LBV was my first set up and I got rid of it because it was 'old hat' but I was at an op and saw a team who were all using the LBV and Alice gear and it's got me wanting to do a late 90's style SF loadout. Â Damn!! Â Â
TheKurodaVagrant
get them in the washing machine with some stones to soften them up a bit  Ohfortheloveofcrap. Enjoy killing your expensive appliances, dude.  I hate this senseless "induced wear" mantra that seems to be on everyone's mind. Just use your kit and it'll wear in naturally, and it'll look better and more authentic. As a bonus you won't ruin a washing machine. Robinio
I just love that old skool kit Matt!
Azulsky
Not as hard core as the Levi factory where they use Lasers to burn the surface of the jeans and then throw them in volcanic rock tumblers. Just so they can look like ###### when they are new lol.  I cut boonies so they they just shade my eyes instead of flopping down to my nose when they are drenched in sweat. Usually just super glue the brim back on  Tis a good kit, time for a rucksack and facepaint for a photoshoot! Edited July 12, 2009 by Azulsky
