Right Hook Fabrication Rifles

My only concearn about the vidio was the power of which the bb left the end of the rifle and the time it took wo reach a target that was only paced out , The is on no part a hint that the build quality of the rifle is somehow impeared or flawed

Being a uk play i only want to know how it performs at 500 fps with a .2bb ( obviously i wouldnt be using ,2s at 500 fps but you get my drift )

There are many on every forum i have read that come across arsey or abrasive ,but its writen text , and you carnt judge voice tone ect from that ,

It does show werth that Right hook is still here answering questions as chef says let everyone have there say but in a fair manner

I wait like most for more reviews of what seems to be a good product

RH-F I see that you're browsing, so I'll ask again, you must have missed the question in my drivel earlier.

You know the QD's that you have in your air line.

Are they self sealing to stop air escaping from both bottle and magazine and if so where did you get them from?

I am going to try the air line/ tank arrangement on one of my Tanaka's to see if I can live with the line. But my major problem is that I do actually put the rifle down all the time (bunker clearence, FIBUA etc) so need to have the QD for practical purposes.

I had a QD in a CO2 line that I had set up before, but it vented the canister when opened.... which as you can imagine isnt very good.

After that, I'll need some advice on regulators and tank pressures just to make sure I am not going to blow someones head off.

you can find some on palmer site or on this web site

http://www.toro-distribution.com/boutik/in...nnectique%20CO2

"purge" mean you can vent the gas, empty one hose

any of those quick dosconnect work

the only problem with your rifles are that they really look like the airsoft surgeon one on redwolf

but i still think they are really good even if i dont see how they can outperform upgraded tanaka (which are not cheap chineese one)

i to am waiting for a review by a buyer or even a review/video of the rifle shown firing at 500fps.

if the gun can preform as in the other video at this power i would happily splash out on one, heck i spent around £1200+ on a l96 and it was still troublesome

switch the qd placement unless you need to seal the gas in the mag...make it so the bottle is the sealedend

If you can, use mcmaster.com they are better and have everything and use classicairsoft.net - workshop - stickied to get the info on reg's and lines and what not. Use a palmers female which cost about 75 usd. PM me if you have any questions.

Right hook: No one is doubting you, we are just skeptical. It would be nice to make a professional video with the mentioned scales, rangefinders, chrono's and cameras if you are attempting to sell 1500$ rifles. They look really nice and I am happy companies are going back to the external systems. You could make us all agree with your ranges if you do a tad more work. Thank you for listening to us...looking forward to that vid.

Any chance of Right Hook making a spring sniper rifle in the future? I do most of my skirmishing during the winter and neither gas nor AEGs fare well at all. I'd love to have a spring sniper rifle capable of the same velocity of the Mantis with .30g. Anyway, it's great to finally see a rugged, serviceable weapon made in the US.

To my knowledge, the allure of high-pressure air (HPA) aside from its consistency is that it is not affected by temperature like green gas/co2, etc. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I would also like to second Aguy's suggestion to utilize the workshop thread for air rigs on classicairsoft.net. That site is an excellent source for all things air-powered-rifles, whether they be old school or modern. I'm not entirely sure, but I think Chef's problem could be solved with a slide check/valve being placed on the line. It basically acts as an on/off valve so that you can QD your gun without draining your tank. ca.net will have all that specific info.

Being one of the proctors of one of the fields which these rifles were born, I can fully vouch for the range and accuracy.

(Which reminds me, I want to have you take a look at my M700 for me one of these days... :) ) I and many people have hand carried bbs back to this guy, plucked from our gear or striking our flesh, after games from shots taken at ridiculous distances. Cynicism and derision doesn't change eye whiteness accounts and testimonials by the victims of these rifles. ;)

You guys are showing bigger knee-jerk reflexes than New Labour.

I watched the video, and I personally felt that the BB took more than a second to reach the target. Sounded like a second and a half, maybe two at a stretch to me, but whatever.

I'd really like to have seen what the rifle chrono'd at while it was hitting that target.

Ben.

Well, I shot hundreds of people with my 600fps spring rifle, typically 30-70 meters and no one had to pluck BBs from their gear. I guess we are back to box one, the magical formula... How on earth you have to pluck field legal velocity BBs at extreme ranges when they bleed 60-70% of their energy after 20-30 meters?

Anyone cares to calculate how much energy the BB has left at 100yds, fired from a 540fps (sub 3 Joule) rifle?

Well a grazing shot can make someone bleed at virtually any range and power, its just how it works when you apply all the energy to a shearing motion instead of an impact.

That being said, having run a fully upped tanaka on green (a little over 3g) for 4-5ish years, at least 10 games a year, and have never had a bb lodge in someone, ever.

Liquidflorian didn't actually say it was lodged in someone though:

I and many people have hand carried bbs back to this guy, plucked from our gear or striking our flesh

From what LF said I took it as "I got hit with his BB (either on the kit, or on bare flesh) and had the BB to prove it". Not "I got hit at ridiculous distances and it hit me so hard it punctured my gear/lodged in my skin". Sounds to me LF was simply saying that his own first person testimonial is that he and others were hit at shockingly long ranges. Nothing more.

Personally, I'm going to keep an open mind about this and wait to hear more actual customer reports before making a decision.

RH-F, as has been suggested, if you can get 2 video cameras to shoot all the footage simultaneously: one to watch the target, one to watch the setup/firing process. Combining the two simultaneous pieces of video into one side by side video is relatively straightforward to do, and if you don't have the video editing equipment to do it I'm sure someone out there does. I think that'll alleviate a lot of the skepticism out there.

Best of luck! :)

Those weapons are certainly impressive, but I really don't like the idea of a remote line. It seems like a compromise, and it certainly removes the ability of a player quickly hand the weapon off to a teammate when the situation calls for it. As for the way you talk up your weaponry...I don't doubt their capabilities...but "playing for real" has nothing to do with an operator's weapon of choice. That's kind of a slap in the face to the experienced guys who don't want to drop 2k on a gun that operates off of a paintball tank <_< I like to think I've been "playing for real" for years, regardless of what gun I was using.

Blasphemy... do you not kow your roots, airsoft guns were originally run off co2/hpa

The co2 doesnt get in the way, just stuff it inn your camelback

How about retrieved, or collected then...

OK, point taken. :)

There is no need for professional video stuff, just two cheap mini-DV cameras rolling at the same time. The raw material can be digitized and cut by anyone with a minimum amount of skill and creativity...

Ok so I am a sceptic..... but I want to be clear on why I am sceptical.

Very often ranges are estimated by people who have never used a tape measure or have no idea as to what the actual range is. This usually results in inaccurate information and over exaggerated ranges. RIGHTHOOK I am not accusing you of this, i am more justifying my imediate reaction to question the information I am given. With this being the case and misinformation being rife I'm afraid I can only believe what is shown to be proven fact.

My siniscism was encouraged by a few comments made by RIGHTHOOK: -

1. Being that the range is burnt onto your mind which suggests that the range was very much guestimated rather than accurately measured.

2. You then claimed to have used a wheel to measure 100yards. Dont wheels measure in meters? (It is possible it was measured in meters but it has been left particularly vague which hasn't helped)

3. Bear with me on this, I quote RH directly: -

"***FYI

To those who have counted my steps, It was 120 paces. In 4 paces I cover 10 feet (2.5 X 4=10) 120 Paces divided 4 30. 30 X 10' is what? -300'"

Which means

In 4 paces you cover 10 feet or 3.05m, which means you cover 75cm per pace.

Ok not everyone can measure this distance in full but you can measure at home 75cm on the floor to see your "average stride". I myself am a height of 6"2 and by my strides this is a BIG stride. Having watched the film (now it is back up) over and over you are not making those strides, the walk to the target is an amble. You can tell by the time taken between every time your foot hits the floor (the time between each stride is short for pacing out to a target). To be covering those strides in the time on the film you would have to be running.

Taking into account all of the above I think we have just cause for sceptiscism to be honest and no amount of eye witness accounts will quash that. We can be certain that these rifles fire accurately at range, I don't doubt that for a second. But do they cover the golden range of 100 yards??? That remains to be seen.

The problem is, what you have here could be groundbreaking to our sport if it is proven and if you brought it to people in the right way. It could result in you making an awful lot of money out of it.

I'm afraid just telling people it does, then asking them to spend 1500 dollars to find out will not not start a fan club for your rifles. In my eyes the only way to settle this is to make another film which accurately measures the following: -

Keep the camera rolling, it doesn't have to be a Lucas production, it is to prove a point. AND WHAT A BIG POINT IT HAS BECOME!

Distance - Film yourself with the wheel you used to measure last time and show the measurement on the wheel. If it is all set up we can go back and count, it doesn't need to be done in slow motion.

Power - Leave the camera rolling and crono the rifle, that will dispell any doubt on that front

Fire and hit! - We could hear it on the last film so it very likely won't even require a second camera.

It should be possible to do this in the 10 minute slot that YOUTUBE allows.

Then sit back and watch the orders come pouring in :) .

Isn't there a practice with Classic Airsoft guns that gets similar ranges with 500 FPS?

All those old JAC and Escort guns run off either HPA or CO2... What they do is take a tightbore inner barrel, and slightly bend it towards the end, giving the gun UBER-HOP!!!.

I think they call these LRB's (Long Range Barrels).

I think our man at RHF has a knowledge of Classics.

:P

Ben.

SOME classics (namely BV-system guns with LRB) can reach 100yd at ~400fps, but at the expense of accuracy and consistency. They can only do this because LRBs are more energy efficient (no obstruction in the bbl) and they impart more spin on the BBs than regular hopups... LRBs are not bent, they have an offset, ramp-like bore.

My Escort rifles have simple pressure screw hopups, but the range is nowhere near to my LRB'd classic.

I made the Asahi video linked above.
