trdsupragt
Wow... where can I find that? I've checked WGC and Redwolf, they don't seem to have it in silver. Care to link me? =) Thanks
skyler8158
picked mine up from UNCompany. http://www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=6298 On a related note, Creation has released a steel version of their P226 slides, and a metal frame.
trdsupragt
Ah, steel. Do you reckon it might be too heavy for cycling? Thanks for the link by the way. Looks like I'll be going to UN for my Sig slides Edited November 19, 2005 by trdsupragt
skyler8158
I don't know, but the $270 price tag is going to stop me from finding out... Edit: Can't post a direct link, but DenTrinity has the Creation frames. There are railed and non-railed versionsand both are black and cost $155. If the craftsmanship is the same as their slides, these are a must buy in my book... Edited November 19, 2005 by skyler8158
revsd5
Unless your a total 226 freak, save your money and ditch the full metal body. TMs plastic is dominate in my book.
Catchv22
Kimo, that Sig552 looks great! Never was a fan of subcarbines myself, but that longer flash hider just does it for me.
Tommygunn
Metal all the way. Who would want a half breed. Creation or PGC Another source for a full Creation combo: http://www.tokyo-model.com.hk/trade/productview/3353

TMs plastic is dominate in my book. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe for AEGs, put on the P226 the plastic is very light and plyable. I was literally able to pull the slide in half to get the blowback chamber out...
trdsupragt
Well, at the moment I'm only considering two metal slides. I won't really be considering a metal body yet partially because I'm not sure if I should keep the rail or not (I have a SureFire x200 ). And I am unsure if the metal frame is necessary because I will also be making it my skirmihsh sidearm
revsd5
Maybe for AEGs, put on the P226 the plastic is very light and plyable. I was literally able to pull the slide in half to get the blowback chamber out... I rather have a slide that flexes than rather break when allowed some preasure. Unless your dying for the full metal action, I still opinionate against buying the full kits... unless of course, they come down in price.
Tommygunn
Buying a metal slide on its own is to some extent a false economy because as far as I know they do not sell frames on their own yet. You will end up buying a full combo in the future leaving you with a spare slide when you could save yourself some money now(inc postage) and get a full set.
Titleist
They do offer purely frames now, both non-railed and railed from creation. Go to den, items MBS2011 and MBS2010. As for a plastic frame being a better choice, I just have to totally disagree with that. Unless we're talking about something like a KSC glock which is plastic with metal reinforced structure...maybe. But as pointed out the TM SIG's plasic is so low grade and flimsy that you can bend it by hand. I got my firing chamber out exactly like skyler did, by just pulling the slide open. From all my experience it's better to not have a rigid slide putting stress on a semi-flexible plastic body. Full metal is still a better choice than doing it halfway. Better durability and it looks SO much better in all metal. Damn creation and all their metal kits, getting easier to make a gun like my 2 tone, uniqueness fading...must retreat! lol. Tommygunn
Ah, I stand corrected. It's either all or nothing when it comes to metal and you'll realise that as soon as you buy the slide on its own.
KimoCheeze
Thanks Catch. You are actually the first person to notice the flash hider. I love it because even though it lenghten the gun but when you're moving with it you hardly notice it.
Soldat
Too bad TM doesn't make the SG550/1 anymore. I would have gotten that in a heartbeat... Now I daydream about CA doing one.
Catchv22
Yeah, I love the lines of the SIG550. I hope CA do decide to do one in the long run. Making 30 round magazines wouldn't hurt either.

Robot 2000
jay851, I can't say I like the look of the 226 without the rail, but you have a great two-tone thang going there

TMC
UN Custom SIG SAUER P226R with Guarder frame + slide, Guarder steel outer barrel, tuned up insides. Fires greengas at roughly... 300 FPS. She's a beaut, isn't she? There is really nothing to fault about the guarder frame/slide. It is a really solid piece.
