Yes I finally received it! I had some difficulties at the customs, also they kept it for 3 weeks!

Unfortunately I haven't shoot it! I don't have a JST (BEC) connector battery or adapter! I'll borrow a battery from a friend this weekend!

So far my favorite is the Escort, the glossy finish on the receiver is far better IMO, both RS SVD's are ver 2 so the receiver is painted in matte black.

It has very nice and crisp recoil I didn't check accuracy/range as I didn't have the time.

And one more photo with the DG MP5!

Nice, I was thinking GoPro's would be awesome due to their small size, and the Hero 3 black edition my mate has is awesome. Only issue is the zoom. Though I suspect you can pick up zoom adaptors for them.

I'm not fully back yet :) Got no kit at the moment, just sorting out residency here in NZ, Then I will be ordering up and getting back into the scene fully :)

Will do Senor Bear - I've seen a guy I think No2 is the title who does some awesome multi angle video recordings.

But still trying to sort out permanent residency. last few months I've been looking at the forums and my old photos, Need to log in to the gunman forums again catch up with folks. I do miss the good old days :)

Edit: must give credit to Andy_2_cool for a lot of the motivation to do this along with finding the various bits and pieces we would need from le interwebz.

Just so you have a better idea of how it is mounted up I have an earlier picture without the camo.

As shown, there is another set of scope rings (high type) and a rail mounted upside down on the top side of the scope. Drilled a hole towards the front of the rail. Through this a hot shoe mount goes through and screws into the ordinary tripod mount on the bottom of the camera.

Hot shoe screw mount: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370684751114?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Was going to mount a PVC pipe similar to how vavann56 has done his however Andy suggested that hot glueing a small (1 inch) piece would suffice. So that is what I eventually did along with the addition of some mesh from an old pair of eye pro for some lens protection. Painted inside and out with Krylon medium brown to avoid glare.

Sorry for the blurry phone Pikachus.

She may not look like much but my VSR fared me well during the Sunday of the UCAP Sandpit Weekender. I had no particular tactical advantage, with few places for a sniper to hide in the chalky quarry, however most of the enemy team must have fallen under the same assumption that many of my own team were professing - that the VSR was not going to fair me well on Sunday when everyone and their mum's turned up. True, with no backup, I'd be a sitting duck at short range, but during the long range engagements she was awesome. 6 kills in less than an hour, then things dried up for a while, then I got shot (first life only), then I pulled my hamstrings in my right leg. Pretty much left me unable to skirmish but at least it left me with a decent overall ratio (6 - 0.5). Don't get me wrong I don't usually base things on ratios like a COD match but it was nice to actually have a decent 'score'. As an honest player I frequently end up with meager or indeed terrible 'scores' - making just three kills during the entire GZW, last year, for example. I reckon its a better feeling that I get than when guys trot back at the end of a game and profess to 40 odd kills for no deaths. STFU, you're either cheating, lying or I just played airsoft with Chuck Norris himself - you're only kidding yourselves out of a good days play.

The sandpit is definitely doable with a sniper rifle, and even on a busy Sunday - it just gives you more to shoot at. Like with a lot of sites with mixed engagement ranges you end up having to work with what you've got and find firing points rather than being able to shoot from anywhere. I played it a few weeks ago and managed to get some decent long range kills in around the structures, but also some relatively short (35m) ones when shooting under vehicles, out of buildings, etc. As ever the MK23 proves a formidable backup, especially as temperatures continue to rise.

The only factor with the sandpit is that its exposed nature means even light winds have quite an effect on point of aim, since there aren't the trees, etc to act as a windbreak. The semi-sheltered nature when firing around the buildings alleviates this locally to a degree, but can also lead to some nasty crosswinds halfway to a target.

I finished work on two L96/AICS rifles yesterday, and while we were doing some field testing we dusted off my M200 and brought it along:

It might not be much fun to carry (or cock, with a 1.7J spring installed), but it is fun to shoot and quite accurate with some basic mods.

Used the m16/m4 attachment for my harris bipod, surprised to see it worked, but its pretty darn solid.

Harris bipod

KA-AG-01, g&g green hop up, centered barrel so the hop up is very predictable. heavy curve at 200 m with .3... need some heavier bb's
(taking recomendations)

SVD profile

UTG butt pad, boiled in water in order to fit over the butt stock, very solid, very helpful and takes away this discomfort in the bolt pull.

SVD Long
