So it seems that 'CQB' and 'counter-sniper' needn't be mutually exclusive I'm not saying that the airsoft definition hasn't been blown out of proportion, but the term seems to have some founding in reality. Banzai Posted October 5, 2004 Report Share Posted October 5, 2004 COunter sniping has been around before the Revolutionary war (when we kicked your limeys asses ) and sniping has been around ( not called sniping but long range firepower marksmanship) since leonardi DaVinchi, he made the first experimental long range accurate rifle, although almost laughable at todays standasrds, it was downrifght scary for the OPFORs in his day. The term sniping was coined by Brittish hunters who would hunt the rare and elusive bird, called the snipe. BTW, they were Called marksman before all this "sniping" business.
