cafemondo
The sound sensor/microphone in the boxmag has failed. Not the board but the actual sensor located in the magwell feeder. One of the connectors has snapped cleanly off from the base and theres no hope it could be soldered. Ive searched RS and Maplin using sound sensor, noise sensor, and microphone as keywords but no luck. Anyone got any suggestions on different search words for what this item actually is or know exactly what Im burbling about and have a bag of them in a neat drawer somewhere? cazboab
Forget maplin dude, go to a pound shop and buy a cheap PC headset, once you take the cover off 99% of them have the right size mic in 'em.
richwuk
If you really want to go to maplins, then its these your after: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=4566 or at least it's what I used in my A&K box mag. But they are very over priced (check out the prices on farnell) and your better off with cazboab's idea.
cafemondo
Many thanks, Farnell came in at £1.34 but want a minimum £20 order. Ill have to have a look around the pound shops, most of them round here just sell bleach, biddycrap and health bars though. What can I smash around the home that may have one in? richwuk
Farnell's are great if your doing MOSFET's (Spare one + firends), its a pain with that £20 min order. I don't know where else a microphone of that size would be used. Or you might have to use Maplin
