Closest thing you can get to the 'Royal Army' is probably the Royal Marines.

 

Not true :) There are the following royal regiments in the army... (seeing as IIRC the royal marines are a regiment in the navy, then these count)

And according to the army website they are Her Majestys armed forces, which seems logical to assume that they are the royal army.

I wouldn't say stuff I thought there wasn't any truth to it :)

 

The British Army is the land armed forces branch of the British Armed Forces. In contrast to the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force, the British Army does not include "royal" in its title, because of its roots as a collection of disparate units, many of which themselves do bear the "royal" prefix.

Oh I wasm't saying you were lying, or wrong I was just saying that it basicaly is the 'royal' army as most of the units are royal units, and obviously as you pointed out before the army flag does have a crown on it. Cheers for the info though mate. :)

Army isnt Royal cos after the Civil war the army was the "New Model Army" which supported Parliament. Never changed back technically as far as im aware.
