Victory
And there goes the time limit... Anyway, forgot to mention, it looks really quite big compared to the rest of the gun in the pic. Well, my MS Paint 'skills' aren't perfect, so I could be a bit off, size-wise. Plus, I'm thinking it'll balance out with the C-Mag and everything. -Vic
HaVoC
Keep the Magpul stock, please
Victory
Heheh, I was expecting that from quite a few people. It's still in the concept stage. Not sure if I'll even go through with it... No worries if I do, though, I'll have the CTR available as well, as well as an E-Mod, whenever I get around to purchasing one. -Vic
The Crunchy Bunny
^ Agreed, the Magpul fits the gun perfectly. That one, not so much.
masakarijoe
vic, please, dont be a murderer. -Joe
M4A1lover
Joe, how does the madbull barrel look with 7inch hand gaurds? im thinking of tuning my m4 in to the Colt IAR and need a 16 inch heavy barrel. thanks A
Mig1
Don't think this was posted yet. http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/2009/...newsaw_020109w/
masakarijoe
Joe, how does the madbull barrel look with 7inch hand gaurds? im thinking of tuning my m4 in to the Colt IAR and need a 16 inch heavy barrel. thanks A i dont know... probably just like any civvie style M4 barrel. my stuff is still in the mail, AND im far away from where it is arriving. that picture is somewhat interesting... but why would colt use gas inpingement again? havent they learned that gas pistons are better? and i dont see much difference between the 2 colt versions... :| -Joe
M4A1lover
thanks wondering if the second gas block atachment will look horrble. i thought the original colt was pisston driven (and a whole lot nicer on the eyes) A
kodiak22
i dont know but i think they may have their facts wrong, because last i read one of colts entries were DI, and the other was a gas piston, thats why they choose both because they were so different, and need more/different testing. but i could be wrong.
masakarijoe
if you read the article, they are both gas inpingement, and the difference is the heat sink and upper receiver. i dont really know what specifically about them is different though. -Joe
Victory
My IAR in the CQ Configuration: Still need: Selector Switches MIAD Pistol Grip Still want: T-Pod DuoStock [That wonky stock idea of mine will be replaced with this.] M82 Carry Handle King Arms M3 in Tan I'll probably buy those wants after I send it in for GBB conversion. With this setup, I'll either use hi-caps, or a Battleaxe dual M4 electric magazine. -Vic P.S. Plan to tone-down the brand new, flashey-ness of the tan MBK with Souske's weathering guide, as used on uscmCorp's FDE rifle.
masakarijoe
that looks really good.... but it is more of a M6A2 carbine than an IAR. actually, its pretty much a perfect M6A2. but that magazine dress is balls ugly. im sorry, it kills the picture. can you take one without it? -Joe
Victory
I'll get a pic of the full length IAR later without it. -Vic
kodiak22
looks nice, but looks more like a PSD, or like joe said an M6a2, cant wait to see the full length one though
Victory
So it decided to snow in SoCal...AGAIN, lol. (Better pics when the sun comes out.) Sorry 'bout the trigger guard. I can't find my roll pins... Also, with this setup, I'd like to use a DuoStock and a T-Pod, but these will do for now. -Vic
masakarijoe
you must be joking. i live near there for a year and its hot as balls. as soon as i leave, then it finally snows. balls. anyway, nice looking rifle, again. much better this time around. so whats with the ras riser? havent seen you use it. and whats that in front of it? and finally, what kind of bolt catch is that? never seen it before. -Joe
Victory
About the snow...strangely, this is the third time we've had any snow in the last 3 months. Back in December, it snowed quite a lot. Last two times, though, it only lasted about an hour and a half. The thing in front of the riser os a sling mount, but I'll use it as a weapons catch mount, most likely. RAS riser...just something I had lying around. Thought I'd toss it on there, see what I thought of it. It doesn't do much, but I kinda' like the way it looks up there. Bolt catch is part of the LayLax enlarged controlls kit. The kit comes with that, a Badger Ord charging handle tac-latch replica (on the M468), and an enlarged magazine release button (on the M468). -Vic
-=OGGY=-
looks great victory....do you have any pics of it without any rail covers and stuff tho? i can't really get the feel of the color of the rail
Victory
Last pic before I receive the last of the parts, then off to conversion: -Vic
masakarijoe
su much stuff on the rails!!! looks cool man -Joe
Victory
Last pic... I lied. Got some parts in...M3 (Thanks Hispeed1!) and the...DuoStock. (Thanks Magsz!) Some Most of you won't like the stock...that I'm sure of. But I do...and that's what matters mose, eh? (-=OGGY=-, I left the rail covers off in this pic...just for you. ) Bad lighting, so the color of the MBK looks off. Also, I didn't stick the pistol grip in the pic, as the DuoStock is taller than the CTR, so it wouldn't match up correctly. Also: Wewt. -Vic
masakarijoe
aside from the rail riser that you arent using,it looks great man nice job. the stocks not bad at all, just different. so, i just ordered an EMOD stock and MIAD grip for mine. i do also have the MOE stock, but i think ill be going with the other ones. not sure... we will see. -Joe
Victory
Hey Joe, any update on your project? As for me, my IAR's up for sale. Need to route funds in a different direction. -Vic
